    Switching out a color

The Magic Wand selection tool will do this. You have to Uncheck Contiquous in the command bar. Set your tolerance high (32 etc) if you want a wide selection. Reduce for a narrow one (color wise). Also, set the Sample size to 3x3 for this image.

Instead of saving to PDF and then bringing into Photoshop, try Exporting to a PSD file format, then open in Photoshop. See if this works better than the PDF.

    Refine Edge Problem

Try re-setting the tool. Just right click on the tool icon at the top of the page and click "Reset tool" . Might fix it , don't know but worth a shot. (The Quick Select tool)

After Effects AE painfully slow and prone to crashes

Hi adamcreator, Welcome to the forum. Is there a question you want to ask or just vent? Edit: Excuse me..I do see your question now. I am not familiar with After Effects but many here are, so you should receive some replies. Just a thought though..I would think 8GB of ram would be on the low...

    Retouch images or fake?

You know there are folks that specialize in nothing but working with photographed images of jewelry and preparing those photos for the catalogs etc. I am inclined to say that these are not produced in software but digital photos that have been manipulated in Photoshop to produce them. There was...

    Looking for help

Welcome to the forum. I'll try and fix this for you. Others feel free to do it also. Here is what I did. Unfortunately the fingers were so blown (overexposed) that there was little detail and they were almost white. Here is what I managed to do.

Hello, I am Ellie and I am new here

In case not, to reset the tool- On the menu bar at the top where the tool icon shows, click the down pointing arrow. Then click on the little cog wheel and a drop down list will appear. Click "Reset Tool". Works for all PS tools.

Help with getting a graphic to conform to an odd shape

What you guys did there was a dandy exercise but I would have reversed the process. I would have printed the graphic large enough to fit the template in the flat. Then either print it on a print and cut machine (Roland etc) that would deliver the printed shape cut out and ready to apply or cut...

How to get sharp edges on your photos?

Silly boy, what do you think the image your looking at is..png. Ai will save for web just like PS except what you get is superior. That is a screenshot though. As to the resolution , I am thinking the OP was attempting to improve it by using the high res number. Maybe he will respond...

How to get sharp edges on your photos?

MrTom your right it does look fine. What OP is referring to I'm sure is when zoomed you can see some pixelation. I don't think adding a stroke is causing it. Note that text created with Photoshop exhibits pixelation when zoomed to begin with. The only way to totally eliminate this is to create...

    Saving PDF in 100%

Professor Mann, I most certainly intended to simply reinforce what IamSam said. Maybe I mis-stated it. However, the whole point that I was trying to make to the OP was that he was to ask his printer what his requirement is and provide him with same. As to the horrible advice on using ACR ...

    Saving PDF in 100%

Like I said..if the printer wants that then give it to him. But as IamSam just said and I will iterate ..0,0,0,100 does not result in 100% black. It is also true that Ai default black is 0,0,0,100. This has to do with their equipment and process, so give them what they ask for and then inspect...

    Saving PDF in 100%

As you know Professor Mann..printers have their individual requirements. He should still ask .

    Saving PDF in 100%

Are you aware that a file that has a CMYK of C-0 M-0 Y-0 K100 is not 100% black? Pure black is C-75 M-68-Y-67 K-90? One thing that comes to mind to bring blacks to that point is to change the mode to RGB, then open the ACR filter and push the Blacks slider all the way to the left. Then convert...
