    Site redesign concept

I like the colors, and the general design, but the icon for "downloads" (I'm assuming it's a CD) doesn't look very much like a CD. Also, I'm not really sure about the font used for "INDEPTH" in your logo... Maybe even changing the Anti-aliasing method on the text would help, actually...

    cs2 upset

The reason is that Adobe chose to use an (apparantly) uncommon API call in the new version of Photoshop. Because this is not used very often, (my understanding is that it's a 2d call, not a 3d feature, which many video cards are designed for these days) some drivers may not correctly handle it...

    cs2 upset

That's why I've said repeatedly in this thread (at least 3 times now) to try upgrading his video drivers. He hasn't responded back yet with that info, or even what video card he has. So because of his ignoring of the subject, I was going for other common causes of PS slowdown.

graphic student creating a christopher reeve tribute poster

It shouldn't be too bad as long as he can get far enough away from the statue/sculpture. You would still get the perspective, but see the statue just fine.

Very true... I think they ran out around 1959 or so. :D

    swim wear image for work

Very nice work! Yeah, the lips are probably too big, but the breasts are fine. They are normal sized, and I'm pretty sure with that type of swimsuit, it probably doesn't really emphasize the "roundness" - it's more of a sportier suit. (Not that I have any experience trying on women's tops or...

    How's this ?

The logo seems very blurry - was this intentional? I would think that if it was sharper, it would look a lot nicer. The outer glow around the logo may be a little much as well. And while you're at it, you may as well go take a look at the starfield tutorial over at www.artofgregmartin.com...

the chris reeve poster - new idea

Wasn't there a Super Bowl commercial a couple years back that had pretty much that same concept? ;)

graphic student creating a christopher reeve tribute poster

Everything sounds great... although I am a little worried about the "face in the clouds" idea. That may be hard to execute well, without getting it to be a little cheesy. The statue idea is pretty cool, though - just make sure to get a shot of it from ground level looking up to get the...

    cs2 upset

Pierre, I use a font manager, I'm just in the very bad habit of keeping all my fonts activated at once, even if I'm not using them. I seem to activate them when I need it, and then just don't get around to deactivating them. dzero2, I don't think those are the cache and memory setting...

    cs2 upset

I'll agree with that. It seems some things were only done half-way, but I haven't experienced any performance issues once I turned the font preview off. (And that was just because I usually keep most of my fonts activated - bad practice, I know.) However, I have been hanging around Adobe's...

    CS2-favorite feature

While I'd be hard-pressed to name a "best" new feature, two that I pretty much can't live without are ones you've already mentioned: Smart Objects and Bridge. I know I've barely scratched the surface of Bridge, but just the fact that it's a) much faster than File Browser, and b) it's...

    Are frames still "in"?

Are they still in? I believe the answer to that would be a big, "NO!" XHTML Strict doesn't even have support for proper "frames" as the way you are thinking of (the "target" attribute doesn't exist anymore). The W3C has moved on to XFrames, which is a little bit different. As to if frames...

We're going to need more system specs than that: Hard drive configuration, what % of memory is allocated to PS, what video card, where you have your scratch disks set up, etc... You do mention that you are running this on machines with more than 2 gig of RAM. Have you tried the /3GB switch...

Most people haven't. And the people that have, it's usually video card drivers.

    cs2 upset

First thing to try is to upgrade your video drivers - CS2 seems to use some features that don't get a workout that much, and upgrading the drivers may help. After that, you are going to have to post your system specs before we can really sit down and help you out.

    Please Help

Use the "rounded rectangle" tool, which is a vector tool to create the shape automatically. (Just make sure it's set to "Shape layer" in the options bar.) Then bring the photo into that document, make sure it's the layer above the rounded rectangle, and press "Ctrl-G" to group those together.
