    Looking for a cross-over filter

Now that I know what you are talking about (it's called "cross processing, not crossover), a simple web search turned up a free action over at shanzcan.com.

on giving hints or offering the full solution

The purpose of these boards is to SHARE information, regarding new ideas, new techniques, new ways of doing things, or deconstructing an effect to recreate it. Sharing implies a two-way interaction, not just being a repository of answers for the lazy. That is a far different thing from...

on giving hints or offering the full solution

The utilization of a manual doesn't even really enter into this, Fray. There are TONS of tutorials on the Web for learning to do all kinds of effects, and there are equally TONS of articles on how to use Photoshop. We're talking taking 5 minutes to look up the information, or taking 30 seconds...

    Anyone Recognise This Font?

I wasn't referring to the letters. The font in question is for the numerals only, and is a different one from the lettering. The '7' and the '4' are almost a dead match for TX Manifesto, but the letters aren't either of them.

    Anyone Recognise This Font?

It looks quite a bit like "Morgan PS Black" to me, maybe closer to "TX Manifesto."

    Looking for a cross-over filter

What is a "cross over" effect? Do you have an example, or a link of what it is you are trying to achieve?

    pesky halftone dots

You can have some success with a little effort and a plug-in called the Scanwizard Descreen filter. Check out the results here. At the very simplest, scanning at a very high resolution may help minimize the halftone somewhat. Here is a little better explanation. Good Luck!

3D what 3D program is the best for me ?

If by your own words, you still suck at Photoshop, why do you think you need a new challenge? Especially a 3d app? There are some free versions of 3d apps out there for you to learn from, like GMAX and I think maybe Carrera. Do a web search. You'll have just as steep a learning curve with...

And increase the transparency, as you can't see any of the text on the paper underneath. Gel or glass should be less opaque.

can someone enlarge this for me please

Bob, the only thing you can do at this point is to go to File>Automate>Fit Image, and enter 1000 and 464, and the image will be resized as it is. Beyond that, we've all explained to you that you will not be able to do much with the image as you have it...

can someone enlarge this for me please

The image you've posted is so badly compressed, that the jpeg artifacts make it basically impossible to enlarge. It already looks bad, and it won't get any better. Do you have the original photo, or can you get it e-mailed to you? If so, you need to have it scanned at the highest resolution...

    Creating brush strokes?

Those are one of the default brush libraries loaded with Photoshop. You just have to append them to the basic brushes. Check the online help files (F1) for the specific steps to load them into your Brush palette.

on giving hints or offering the full solution

Good point, Kenny. But, you made the effort to follow the tutorial for the Golden Bar. I think the point here is for those people who will not make ANY effort to even FIND the tutorial, they just post a "How do I do this effect?" type of question, with little to no effort expended to even seek...

One of those chunks of code

Stroker, that is why God created comments to put next to your code. You type /*and then write down what the heck you are doing and why, then you end your comment with */ Then, not only will you know what your coding reasons and goals were, so would anyone else using your code or trying...

    Why So Hostile & Repressive?

This is PIRATE SPAM. It's ILLEGAL, oh brainless one. It is against the Terms of Service of this site. I have forwarded your website to Piracy@adobe.com, as well as Alienskin, the makers of EyeCandy. You can expect some VERY interested legal parties to be contacting you shortly. There is...

    Ideas???

Basically, no. That effect, and a few others like it is one of the main reasons Painter is able to carve a very unique niche out of the Digital Art market. You could try making a custom brush, and clone onto a new layer, and then use Layer styles for a bevel effect, but it will still look...

    Soft metal effects

I used the default settings, and just moved the center of the light source downwards and spread it out to a more circular shape. The different lighting Mark refers to is why I stated about 7 layers or so, each one being part of the image, and each one having its own lighting effect applied...
