    need help with waterfall

You're showing too much water. Do a search for waterfall pictures and compare them to yours. Especially when you're in a rocky environment...

    Sun pic

I think you're making it harder than it needs to be, Welles. A faster, simpler solution is to make a circular selection, invert it, and then just use the airbrush at a lowered opacity and the Eyedropper tool to paint over the smudge, and that horrid lens flare in the lower center. Use the...

    Creating Fire / Flames ( Help! )

You'll probably get your best results by attempting to learn the effect as presented in the tutorials. If can make a type layer look like it's on fire, you'll then have learned the effect well enough that you should be able to adapt it to any object on its own layer with the same results...

    3d

You can make a "3D" picture of anything you can draw in Photoshop, but past an image of a 3d scence, no. To an extent, as the old saying goes, "you can't get there from here." Photoshop is not a 3D app, it is a 2D photo editor program. You can manipulate 3 parallelogram shapes to simulate...

    Glad you're enjoying the site, Ferlin! There are a few out there that make a person laugh every time they visit, and this is one of those! :D :}

Hmmm...my psychic powers see you being stuck between steps...um...27 and, um....228. It's kind of hard to say exactly what you're doing wrong with what information you've given. You are not the first person to take the tutorial, and you will probably learn what you've done wrong by doing...

    Photoshop SineDots experiments...

Well, you talk a good argument, there idrisi...let's see some of these similar effects that you say can be created and controlled! It's easy to visually deconstruct an effect. It's the ability to create what you've described that is the "proof of the pudding," as they say... Until I see a...

    Advanced PS User Books

I think you may find that the reason most PS books don't go past intermediate level, is that once you master the techniques to that point, you've reached a level of creativity where you no longer need the crutch of someone else's experiences. You go out and make your own path. That is why...

How can make the glass in water effect??

I made a large dark green rectangle, painted a bunch of horizontal stripes in various colors, smudged, liquified, and blurred. Then I duplicated the layer, ran a horizontal motion blur on it, changed the blending mode and reduced the opacity. I then used the Transform Tool to reduce the height...

CS so slow on a fast hardware!

You'll also find that CS does run slow, because there is a subprocess running that analyzes content. This is part of the anti-counterfeiting code that Adobe incorporated in the CS suite. There is no fix for it.

    Glossy pictures.

Maybe the plastic wrap filter? That or a painted highlight on a separate layer with the opacity adjusted.

how is he getting these effects!!! please help

I'm still working on this technique...here's my latest experiment, done on a stock photo from the Photo 5,000 CD, original image on top. It's similar to some of Mark's tutorials, in that there are a lot of layers and blending modes.

how is he getting these effects!!! please help

Well actually, I'd venture that all of this guy's photographs are done on a camera first... :bustagut: . But, beyond that, I think you're mistaken. Those effects are achieved with some good ol' New Technology Computer enhancement. There's no argument about starting off with a good camera, but...

How to retouch this photo, hlp pls!!!!!!

Fair had nothing to do with it. I simply wanted to post the original image and the "latest" experiment results. Is your eyesight that bad that you could see no noticible difference? Should get that checked. [innocent]

Why not just create your own custom pattern, and then use the fill bucket set to pattern?

    i need your help!!

Why would I want to sign up to a Forum I have no knowlege of, to vote on a poll I have no knowlege of? What's my incentive, my motivation or interest in any of it? \:] Isn't this type of ploy a form of "Ballot Box stuffing"???? [stuned]

    Need my sky back....

beedy, ya really got to start learning to use photoshop instead of just posting all your pics here for everyone else to work on for you. You might also want to check out a photography course at PPCC, or try taking your Garden of the Gods pictures at about 10 am on a nice day.

How to retouch this photo, hlp pls!!!!!!

Not at all! Somehow, that part of my sentence didn't make it from my mind to my fingers. What I meant to say was that I was able to smooth the green channel somewhat, but the blue channel was still a challenge for the next brave soul... It still is for that matter. This is acutally turning...

How to retouch this photo, hlp pls!!!!!!

tranquil, the original image shows a real strong herringbone pattern in the green channel, which is smoothed somewhat by sergiy's technique, but I still see it more as horizontal shadowy bands. Reduce the size of the image on your desktop with the Navigator slider. It's like stepping back...
