    you may try puppet warp left and right edges in order to widen your image to the desired width. it will also fix the wide angle lens distortion. i did quite a few of these in architecture photography.

    it is truly the quality measurement. you may see this in action after you import an raster image into vector program such as coreldraw. when you resize image here, you may see how it recalculates resolution, like when you make it smaller it increases dpi resolutioon and vice versa... any raster...

    for the gray color just put one white filled layer bellow prior to beveling you need to cut out the f letter than hold ctrl+left click on the layer icon in the layers palette to select it with shape cutout like here you may use plugins to get more beveling control such as alienskin

    if you download such images from the internet as you say, there is an option in google images search where you may define results image size. i always check show only images greater than 2mb (that is the way google separates them) and you should be good with resolution issues.

    clone stamp it. if you meant the stains on the textured cloth use small stamp and 100% opacity. pay some atention on the nose part i think you need some shadowing in order not to look flat. after you're done go image desaturate and then bring aged look back using ctrl+B and plying with it.

    make a copy of your files into separate folder. make a copy of one of them somewhere else and open it in ps. if not visible go to window show actions there is a little icon on the bottom of the actions window that says new now do your desired interventions on the photo then save and close it...

    couldn't agree more. but you would be surprised how untrained eye has limited perception. sometimes i spent hours to make something, average viewer won't even recognize. my misfortune is that i have superior that is in photography for decades...

    nice and thanks. i had a few laughs seeing them retouching hair one by oneusing tiny little brush. if you only see me doing some of mine retouchs and the giant brush size that i'm using in some cases...

    my go. you do the lettering and colors. btw this is 1 minute thing, you should try to recreate it as ibclare suggested.
