Brushes - how do add downloaded brushes to list

and that helps the original poster... how exactly? Anyway, judging by steve's undiplomatic and unhelpful response, it seems that you might have trouble following any instruction I give (cs3 is the only photoshop I've ever touched). Best advice I can say is to explore, as long as you don't...

Brushes - how do add downloaded brushes to list

I'm in a different version of photoshop than you are, but this is how I add brushes: http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r1/mozartdminor/Picture6.png hopefully that is somewhat helpful to you.

    digitize text

forgive me if I was a bit short in my earlier post. What I meant to convey is that if you don't have the familiarity to already know how to do these things, then you probably aren't familiar enough to be able to execute the instructions we give you?at least not with results to your liking...

    digitize text

Also, I think it's safe to say that if you don't already know what you need to do to accomplish what you're asking, then you don't have the skill to use what we tell you.

Brush tool erasing in Quick Mask mode rather than filling in

I'm not sure if this is your problem, but I just replicated your problem in my photoshop trying to paint with the color white in quick mask. It seems that painting in black adds, and painting in white erases...

    Can you figure this out?

I'd say that is done with some combination of: image->adjustments->gradient map image->adjustments->posterize and image->adjustments->hue/saturation. I just did a quick test with those, and it came out pretty similarly.

    Need help with styles....

I've never actually had an occasion to use styles, so I just went into photoshop and found what you're talking about. I assume you already tried this method?: (in step one you're clicking on those 3 parallel lines, in case I wasn't clear) if that doesn't work, I'm afraid I can't help you...

How do you arrange pictures like this?

I'd just go edit->free transform, and then careful input into the rotation box. You'll just need to take 360/# of pictures, start at 0 and add that number onto the rotation value of each successive photo . so for 10 photos it'd be 0, 36, 72, 108, 144, etc. all the way around to 360.

    Soccer collage

Hey Robbie, I just stumbled upon your request here and thought I'd give it a quick shot. Here's a small version of the file, if you want the full size, let me know and I'll it to ya. http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r1/mozartdminor/testfinal.png ps. I can still edit it if there is...

    Brush Colour Help

when you started your file what color mode did you select? RGB is the most common. If you accidentally set it as greyscale (or opened a file created in greyscale), you won't be able to access any colors but black, grey and white.

How do you apply settings, filters, etc...

It sounds like you're looking to apply the same filters/settings to multiple pictures. You'll want to go to Window->Actions then in that pop-up, select 'create new action' (it's right next to the trash). Now you'll name your action, and it'll automatically start recording what you do, and what...

Can this photo be fixed ?

You'll want to look for videos on the 'clone brush' and 'heal brush', those are the only two tools I used.

house interior photos - how can i see outside windows??

for that to work you're going to need a really high quality source photo, and you'll want to make the windows a selection and possibly even their own layer. Even then it's not guaranteed though. as long as you're careful with your cuts this should work pretty well. You can use the separate...

    Custom Brush Question

Kim's assumption is correct; there is no way to do what you're saying with just a brush. All brushes are always just one color, so you'll still need to do some coloring on your tree no matter what.

How can I get the colors to "pop" on my pics?

I'm not sure how new you are so please don't be insulted, but have you tried Image->adjustments->brightness/Contrast ? also you might want to play with the sharpen tool (not filter). Other than that, I'd try painting white on a new layer and playing with blending modes and opacity.

    please help

it's kind of hard to say exactly how they did it, but I'd say to get a nice set of Grunge brushes, and play with the "color burn" and "Multiply" layer blending modes. I clocked myself for 10 minutes and played with a single brush set, and some blending modes, just for a proof of concept...

Paint Bucket tool, whats going on with it?

This problem is occuring because of the feather setting. I'd recommend using the 'rounded rectangle tool' if you're looking for a rounded edge. just draw your box, then you can right click anywhere and select either 'Make Selection' or 'Fill Path'. It's a bit inconvenient, but it'll work...

changing a picture into black and white??

you might also want to look into Image->Adjustments->Posterize. That adjustment lets you define how many colors are in a photo. so if you want only stark white and perfect black, just use the standard "black and white" effect in photoshop (image->adjustment->black & white) and then posterize it...

    Pen tool problem.

your pen tool needs to be on 'paths' to do what you're describing. the button for me is in the top left of your CS3, when you have the pen tool selected.
