    the fence is only showing in the sky, so if you color select the sky, and duplicate the image layer, then apply the selection to a mask, you should be able to quickly remove it with the healing brush. you should also blur the sky image afterwards so it looks more even, just make sure the mask...

    a good alternative to that is a table lamp with a shade that you can flip up, and is white underneath. put a soft white lightbulb in there, and you have a decent soft light source

    i think you were doing really well, until you added the split toning... the colors you chose actually make the shadow look like a bad case of ca (chromatic aberration) you also appear to have softened the detail in the eyes, a photographer generally wants the eyes to be the sharpest part of...

    this specific one was in wisconsin, which isn't exactly known for large colorful insects, so i was surprised to see this thing flying strait at me. the local museum has a butterfly exhibit, with hundreds of exotic butterflies flying around, but this thing was bigger than most of those even...
