Pen Tool Is killing me :(

It is/can be a very confusing tool to use at first!! But once you get the hang of it, you may find that it is your best friend!! You can create smoother lines than you think. And as JoeD stated -- :righton: ;) :D

3D New Puter, New Aps, New pics -- Wheee!

I build custom computers, and Alienware is very well known to me -- congratulations on purchasing a fine piece of equipment there Raven!! You paid a pretty penny for it too!! Does it have the liquid cooling system? Last time I read anything on Alienware, they were coming out with a new set-up...

    Font help

well, by tracing it with the pen tool, you can easily change any part of it!! I would have to side with Mark on this one!! It would be the better way to go. I also have to agree with Mark, haven't seen that font -- and I only have just over 3,000 fonts in my libraries!!

    Resolution & Image Size

:bustagut: Anyway, no problem -- I would just try to work everything out in a scaled down version, and then try and scale up a little at a time. I know this may take a long time to let the math processes to work themselves out, but unfortunately this will have to do. BUT do not flatten the...

Question on drawing techniques in PS?

anepu, In my experience of trying to draw animals, using the pen tool works the best. I would employ that method after you have your shapes set like you have them in your examples above, then using the pen tool to draw out the outside shape. When you have that done, set your pen tool action...

    Resolution & Image Size

Thank you for the info tomasz -- very helpful for the rest of us to know!! I have only one question, Did you flatten the whole image BEFORE you scaled-up? If so, then what you did is in effect create a jpeg of the whole picture! What I mean is that by flattening the image before scaling...

Cutting rounded rectangle shape from photo

I have to echo JoeD on this one -- never use a selection when you have the opportunity to use a path. You will in most cases have a LOT smoother cut than a selection, and can EASILY be changed to suit your needs!! :righton: 8)) :B B7

    starburst photo

You are very welcome soulmate (and thank you to Welles) -- glad I could help out! I was hoping that you would play with sifferent settings/filters/tools to achieve what you want. You could also just hide the white layer. because it is not part of the actual starburst layer! Magic Wand is...

    starburst photo

ok, I was in a rush when I typed that out -- forgive me! Just follow these steps to the "T" and you should have what you seek! In the Same Document you are working in -- 1. Hide all of your other layers. 2. Add 2 new layers (Shift+Ctrl+N - 2 times) 3. Color the first of your new...

hey, when you have that many fonts, don't you have trouble starting up PS? At one time I had over 2,000 fonts in my fonts folder and it always took forever for PS to load up, is there a trick to having that many fonts on the system but keep prog load up times to a minimum? \:]
