    Paths/Shapes Conversion Question

    make your selection with the wand, right click and make a path. Now grab the pen tool, right click within the path and selct custom shape. I think this is what you are going for. If not, let me know.

    Yeah, I know what you mean. I looked around, but most of the golf ball tutorials are meant for Photoshop along with a 3D Program, like studiomax or lightwave. I'll keep my eyes open though. [innocent]

    Using selections and move tool

    okay, so with whatever selection tool you used, move it over the the selection and ctrl+click to cut and move the selection or ctrl+alt+click to copy and move the selection. After you've done that you can move the lightning with the move tool because it's on its own layer.

    Did you cut or copy the selection before you tried to move it? I think that's the step you're missing. Let me know if i'm way off.

    You're right. In fact, I over-brightened the original so you could see the red dots better. Here's a cropped version of the original, slight levels adjustment. The original is pretty dark

    Here's the fix using the NeatImage software. I'd like to be able to do this in photoshop.
