    storing files

I`m asuming that you don`t have room on the 120 to transfer the 80 to it for the switch , then move them to the new drive ?

    The Glass Challenge

Ok. I sort of informally challenged y`all in another thread, but it didn`t get a lot of response, so I`m making it official. Show me your glass. Doesn`t matter glass what. Tools, furniture, people, animals, fruit, flowers, whatever, as long as it`s glass. Time to knock the dust off your image...

    4 questions

When you open theimages in PS, they will already be at 300 dpi if saved that way. Uunless you`re printing that way CMYK is not always best (ask your printer). If they are already oen in photoshop, just drag them into the template document. If not, double click the photoshop background, or go...

How to approach it would depend on your definition of "polish". More information would help alot.

    Gradient and Paintbucket tool

    1) Use a selection. There are several besides the Marquee Tool. I`d have to see the image to be able to suggest the best one, but the Pen tool is your friend. 2) Close the shape off with a selection. Or use the Paintbrush.

    my shot at the Ibanez

That`s a good start winterhawk. Haven`t seen an Ibanez tuning board up close for a while, but isn`t there an Ibanez logo up there ? The forst thing that caught my eye was the tuning keys all facing the same direction and the changing bevels on the edges. (they might do that on this model) Lots...

    sharpen an image

In a basic way, Sharpening is a touchy subject. Lot`s of ways to get there, very much overused, IMHO, and easy to overdo. It is also very image dependant. Some images benifit greatly from some sharpening. It`s a good idea to sharpen some before reducing size, for instance. Some images are...

    glass effect

I just realized why the glass part is so opaque. I just got out another bulb, and it`s a Soft White bulb (just like the one I used for reference). They really look like that. They are that non-translucent. That`s a good tip, though lasa. Did you distort with a displacement map, or spherise ?

    glass effect

Yea, I noticed the shadow when I uploaded it. Poiint taken on the glass, too. I think the additional reflections will cure it, too. If I can shake this flu, I may give it another shot, considering this new info. Thanks for the C&C, all.

    glass effect

Thanks, patrick. My favorite part is generally the screw, too. :) @SCync : Yes, I see what you mean. I made this one about 5 yars ago, and was new to the pen tool then. I think, also it could be a bit more transparent. Maybe I`ll do another one....Maybe this should be a light bulb challenge ...
