    coming storm

Very nice, ronmatt. I`ve seen those skies. They can make you feel very small.

    glass effect

Honestly, Gaussian, I had to go look in the PSD, it was a long time ago. :) Seems that there are 3 paths, stroked, and about 13 Layers of mostly hand painted (with an Optical Trackball) highs and lows.. Says it`s a 1.02 MB file, if you`d like me to post it, just lemme know.

    Photo adjustments

How much of any one color is in an image depends entirely on the subject matter of the image. If you use a formula for color amounts, all images would look like they were taken in the same setting, at the same time of day, by the same camera, and so on. Viva la differance !

    Help!! Black and White pic

Ok, for this image, set the Magic Wand tolerence to 20 (It`s right below where it says "Filter" at the top of the screen.) Click on the belly. It won`t select all of it the first time. See the "Marching Ants" ? Ok, Now, hold the SHIFT key, the cursor will change. Click on an unselected area of...

I did some glass stuff a while back, too. :)

Making realistic sheets of flat glass

Glass is all about the reflections. It either needs to reflect light, or something from it`s environment. The advantage of digital imaging is that you can make it do one or the other. In real life it has to do both. Look at some flat glass. See how the light reflects in streaks ? That defines...

save to web - photos not being saved properly

After you resize in the Image Size tab, make sure you`re clicking "Apply". Always start with the simple stuff, if that`s not it, we`ll try again.

Problem: Using something with lower set o pixels as a reference

You can only work on the top document. So, If I understand, you want to draw a straight line on a piece that is too big to see all at once and be acurate, as seen through a reference pic right ? OK, if that`s the case, enlarge the reference (all are in the same document, yes ?) til you an see...

How to get the effect of painted wood?

I`m not sure what you`re looking for , so I`m just taking a shot here. I started with real wood textures, then : 1) New Layer. Fill w/ blue. 2) Add noise. how much will be determined by file dementions and resolution. Play with it. 3) Motiin blur, 90 degrees. Again play with the amount. Set to...

    Need Help Removing Transparent Artifact!

My feelings exactly, Gaussian. I enjoyed the challenge in this one, even though I didn`t follow it through well. Just wanted to see if I could find a technique that would get it going the right direction. This one would require lots of time and hand work. It would have to be important. And ...

    Need Help Removing Transparent Artifact!

Oh, no prob, Gaussian. It is all about sharing info, yes ? I was (as often is the case these days) not thinking. Even though it is a rare problem, maybe the technique can be used by someone else somewhere else for something else.

    smooth curved lines

I can`t think of a better way to make a smooth line than stroking a path, unless you soften the brush a bit and let it anti-alias itself a bit..

    Need Help Removing Transparent Artifact!

Good point. Didn`t think about that when he/she pm'ed me. It went like this : Quote from: docilebob on January 18, 2007, 09:11:20 PM Sorry, I didn`t save the PSD I used. To be more specific, make a selection around the discolored part. You may have to repeat this process, as the intensity...

Cutting out a girl from white to red background

It`s possible enough. The only thing you need to watch for is the reflected light on the edges of the girl. It will either need to be removed of converted to red to avoid the "halo" thing.

how do i make a face shorter

In the fullness of time, all things are possible. Whether it`s too hard to try or not would depend on how important this is to you to get this done. It will be time consuming. How are you at blending ? To do it, you would have to get the face on it`s own layer. Then decide how much shorter you...

how do i make a face look straight that is tilted to the left

Not sure which tutorials you mean, but if you use the move tool (or hold CTRL), click and drag from the ruler, a guide will come out and stay where you drop it, either horizontal or vertical, that you can align via the ruler. Is that what you mean ? But that won`t rotate your face for you ...
