    Imageready"dupliate Images...

Don't do that just yet. What program are you using for HTML coding? If you are not using anything here are some freebie programs that will help you: http://www.arachnoid.com/arachnophilia/ http://www.coffeecup.com/ http://www.studioware.com/ (this is the one I used when I first...

    Imageready"dupliate Images...

That is where HTML comes in. You have to link to the main file from each page. Let's say you want the main site logo to show up on page two. Then the code would be: <img src="../../images/logo.gif" width="750" height="100" alt="your file name"> The ../../ determines how far down the...

    Imageready"dupliate Images...

As Erik stated IR doesn't know what you saved the last page files as. The best way to handle different pages is in the root directory have one folder called images. This will be the folder for the main page. Then make subfolders for the other pages with image folders inside that subfolder...

    Layer Style

Ok silly question but it has me going nuts. I added a drop shadow to one layer, no problem. Then on another layer I added a drop shadow but when I change the settings it changes it on both layers. I don't remember this being normal for some odd reason or have I just lost my mind and need to...

probs with previewing in browsers with DWMX

Ok the old tech support dog is coming out in me! I did recreate what you explained. I had a page open in DW and in Windows Explorer I moved the page to another folder without closing it in DW. Wham # signs on all my links. Then I had a page open in DW and renamed the page and wham, # signs...

probs with previewing in browsers with DWMX

I agree with Mark on the possible cause. I, like Mark, usually open a few pages to edit or if I create a new site I just start with a new doc and DW hates that. DW, if a site folder has not been set up, is totally confused and will try to override what you are doing. I have seen DW rename...

Website uploaded without Boarders - How?

Erik those are depreciated tags now if you want the site to be 4.01 W3 compliant. You can use those tags only in CSS now. If you do that it will work across the board in all browsers. w3.org is a great site for html info. You can validate your pages there and the errors will direct you to...

Website uploaded without Boarders - How?

You need the tag border="0" in the main table tag. As for filling up the screen use "100%" for the width in the main table. I went to your listed site and all I see is the directory structure. Make sure you have the index.html file in the main root of your directory so the page will render...

    Metatags

Oh yes Mark several! Those are just a few of the many I have listed for the down right mean bots that want to access forms and private sections of the site when the robots.txt file tells them not to. The file I have above is for a client who didn't mind it being posted. I also have a dbase...

    Metatags

Another thing Erik, the robots.txt file goes in the root directory as well as the htaccess file. It is loaded as "htaccess" no file extension. If you search on Google you can find tons of tuts on both files. Your htaccess file does not need to be as extensive as the one I have listed here in...

    Metatags

Meta tags are important. Make sure your site is optimized for such tags. As for stopping access to images use a robots.txt file and tell the search engines where to go. Bad thing is some don't pay attention to the txt file hence my php file that blocks them from my site until I remove...

    My portfoliio site critique plz

Oh by no means did I think you could do nothing. I am impressed with what you have shown so far. Just giving you some food for thought so when you get a request for a site you are prepared and can move on it. I would suggest that you get the contracts and such, if you don't have them already...

    My portfoliio site critique plz

Did you type or use an action to add the text? If so that is ok but when you have someone who wants a site, adding the text to the psd is not always the way to go. You need to be able to code the text in the web page without the use of a psd file. The <table> tags and <div> tags are used for...

    Anyone want a free website?

MI5 I would suggest getting some free hosting and put up a portfolio there. We can see that you have made the psd file but can you slice it and code it? Until people see that you can actually make a site function you are going to have a hard time getting any work, free or paying. :D

    Poloroid Needs Help

Thanks for the info! I can scan up to 2400 but of course it look horrible!! NeatImage looks like the program to have for sure. I may look at buying that today. I am going to work with the 2400 scan some more and see what I can do on my own while researching NeatImage. Thanks again for...

    Poloroid Needs Help

Ok I have an old polorid pic that needs to be cleaned up. The photo is torn, no biggie fixing that with pshop but the photo itself has a huge amount of grain to it. I scanned the pic in at 300 dpi then went up to 2400 dpi which made the dots so much worse. I have tried g blur and other things...

    Opera releases a new Browser

    Ahh yes Mozilla is a wonderful browser/email client. I use that as a primary on one of my other machines. It is somewhat picky about code as well. Not as picky as NS4.75 thank goodness. I have been running Mozilla since 1.2 and i've had very few problems. It is a great little proggie! :}

    Opera releases a new Browser

Wow Erik! [stuned] I am using 7.5 right now and i've had none of the problems you have mentioned so far. I am even running this on a Pent II machine. It only takes around 5 seconds to load the browser after a complete shutdown of the browser. I did have a problem with hitting this site...
