    Deleting layers

I was just about to come back and ask why it isn't working. I've tried using the Option and the Option-Control buttons but neither work the way it has been described. If I link 2 layers and hold down the Option button while clicking on the Trash only the one that is removed is the one that...

Is there a way to get rid of the window that comes up whenever I try to delete a layer which asks me if I want to delete a layer. I'm using PS 7.

    Scanning double

I was wondering if there is any difference to the quality between scanning one photo at 300 dpi or scanning 2 photos at the same time at 300 dpi. I would then later on separate the 2 photos in PS using the Copy and Paste method. [doh]

    saving a selection

Spectre you said "You can get the marching ants of each selection area by control+clicking on the alpha channel icon, " if I use the Alpha method suggested by Stroker however when I control click on the Alpha channel icon I get 2 choices which are, "Duplicate channel and Delete channel" I...

    saving a selection

I'm sorry Stroker but not sure what you are telling me. I guess when you say choose HSB you are referring to Hue, Saturation and Brightness, I only see Hue and Saturation on the list. Anyhow I tried choosing that but couldn't get it to work so that I would get the marching ants back. All I...

    saving a selection

Hi Stroker, thanks for the info. but it's not exactly what I was looking for. I'm not too good at explaining this stuff but I'll try again. What I want to be able to do is to select various parts of an image so it looks like I have a series of selected areas with marching ants going around...

    saving a selection

Is there a way to save a combination of selections on an image so that I can come back to the image at some later date and change the content of the selections without having to re-select all of the areas again.

    Selecting a layer

Thanks Mark, the thread was very helpful even stumbled on to another method by chance of locating the layer besides the Command, Control. I first choose the Move tool and then hold down the Command key. Then while the cursor is over the image I click the mouse and the layer will be highlighted...

    Selecting a layer

Thanks Erik, that works slick wish I'd known about it earlier . I tried the Command Click but couldn't get the dialog box you mentioned I had to create the New Layer set by selecting it from the drop down menu. However in the process of trying that I found that if I Command Click when I have...

    Disappearing cursor

I'm using PS 7 and a Mac but I had this same problem with PS 6. If I select a part of a picture with any of the Marquee or Lasso tools and then move a tool i.e. Wand, Clone or Eraser near the selected area the tool will flash off and on. As I move the tool away from the selected area the...

    Selecting a layer

I'm using a Mac and PS 7, is there an easier way to locate a particular layer on a photograph without going down the list of layers and clicking on the eye icon to see which layer disappears. [confused]

    History

Wendy I replied to your comment about not understanding but for some reason it didn't show up and I've just now noticed it. Anyhow not to worry I got everything sorted out now and it would be too complicated to explain what my problem was about the different snapshots. Thanks for all of...

    History

I was able to make a colour change to that snapshot as you both said I could but have run into a small glitch. I did as you suggested Wendy and made another snapshot of the colour change making it snapshot No. 7. On snapshot No. 6 an item which I had eliminated on the picture was now...

    History

Thanks Wendy and Pierre, that's great news I left my machine on all night with PS open as I didn't want to lose all of the History until I'd been able to make the changes to my photo. Thanks again. :D
