    Help needed on Translation

Image broken into seperate photo elements...

HI. It looks to me as though that`s 5 photos laid over one another with drop shadows. ~shrugs~ Maybe this will help ?

What to do with this graphic?

Personally, I never flatten a psd. It`s a great convenience at times to have the original layered file available. Just having to rebuild ONE because somebody wants *that* moved *over there* makes all the space required worth it. If I need a *flattened* copy for something, I save one with a new...

    Realistic Eye?

Eyes are fun. Here`s one I did from DarkGardens tutorial. ^^ This one just for fun. Another one from an eye thread at that *other* forum. Did I mention that I like eyes ? Let me see yours..muwahahahahaha Another thing to try with yours , Storm, is to adapt Marks Glass...

Thanks, all. But it is a good tutorial. :righton: Only thing I can`t figure out is why the bottom tips of her hair didn`t accept the color. Welcome pair-.

    Nice one Ranger.

    First attempt at gel text

Thanks, Ranger. Funny you should mention shiny things. I made this one last night. This one is sort of involved...convoluted...strange way of getting there. (lots of my stuff is like that.) It started off as Shazcan`s tesselation tutorial and mutated into this. If you look closely...

Not sure what tool you have at your disposal ( Curves, Lighting Effects ?) but this may help Creating Depth.

Where do kb's come from when resaving photos.

Or, to put it another way, When you save at 5, the image degrades. ( alot) it does this to a certain degree every time you save as a JPG, even at maximum quality. When you reopen the degraded image again, Photoshop only sees the number of pixels in the image, so it`s full sized (Kb) again...

    Border Technique

Yea, Keeper, I tried the other blend modes, and it either washed it out more than I wanted it to, or reducing the opacity enough to prevent that killed the effect. You can bump the Displace settings, but I stuck with fairly low ones, `cause I just wanted a bit of offset to give that *montage*...

Thanks wbiss, Keeper-dude. Here`s the non-bandwidth-saving version : Original Size

    Underexposed Slides

Sometimes this works : Duplicate the original twice. Set one to screen mode (top) and the other to multiply. Add a Hide All layer mask to both. Paint in the highs(and lows) where you need them by revealing the corresponding layer with the mask. Hope that helps.

    Border Technique

    Here`s one done with a DMap . 1) New channel, fill w/ 50%grey, Filter>>Pixelate>>mosaic 102 px cells, Filter>>Stylize>>extrude, blocks, 50, 20. CTRL+A, CTRL+C, CTRL+N, ENTER, CTRL+V, Save As psd (for the DMap.) 2)Filter>>Distort>>displace, 25, -10 Stretch to fit (doesn`t matter here), Wrap...

    how to create this effect?

Bahaha. Can`t fool you for a minute. I selected the *stretch* from the above photo, copy/paste on a new layer, polar inversion, copy, flip, TADA. And Kudos and thanks to you, my friend for pushing the boundaries, and pounding (some of) it into me. ~ We`re not worthy~

    how to create this effect?

:D Haha. this has been my favorite *biker girl* for a while, now. I like the shot of her standing on the street corner, too. Do you have that one ?

    Airbrush

Thanks kiwi. I kinda rushed through that example. In addition to the noise you mentioned, a reflection of the table it sits on would do wonders, as well.
