    I don't know why you don't just make the grid out of squares, then use the pen. It can be done best in Illustrator, as H said, but can be done with close results in Photoshop. p.s. Illustrator has a spiral tool.

    Last one. The best thing to do, if she thinks it is easily done, is to get her to have a go at what has been done here. This way, she will realise there is no magic button to do these things, and takes years of practice to be any good at Photoshop. People can't just decide to do image editing...

    The Southern Tenant Farmers Union is sure American, can't think of any other acronym with those letters that is though. I want it to snow here, but it hardly ever snows where I live in the UK, everyone seems to forget how to do things after an inch of snow full stop

    This tutorial is quite good, done by a guy who is very well on the internet from tutvid, who are pretty good with tutorial for Photoshop as well. He is also friends with Howard Pinsky from IceflowStudios, who has posted tutorials here a few times.
