    Using a Tablet and Photoshop

I assume you do your basic sketch with a hard narrow brush and now you want to go back and shade it with a soft, more translucent brush? Once you start the shading, make several layers on top of your basic sketch. Each of those layers can be adjusted individually. If you overlap two strokes...

HELP how do i create this grungy/dreamy effect on visualations?

Bunches of transparent layers with big portions masked out and some very faint cloud layers too. Some desaturation, contrast work, etc. Basically you just play until you get the look you want. :)

    Using a Tablet and Photoshop

Layers, layers layers. If you make a boatload of layers and just put strokes that are close to each other on different layers you can mask out anything overlapping and then merge the layers together at the end. Other than that there really is no way to prevent - or fix - the overlapping...

    you know what i think...

Well..... I guess I really should see if I can get my money back for those tickets I bought, then, if only visitors get attacked. ;) You guys know I'm just teasing you cuz I love you.

    you know what i think...

Humorous I get, but gentle?? I dated an Australian guy for a while and he kept referring to the GAFA. I thought it was a national park or something. Then I found out what GAFA really meant and fell down laughing. In truth there's nothing gentle about Oz or its citizens. Whacking great...

American English is all mashed up? Really? Hmmmm.... This from the people who add an "O" to everything and call it language. Right, Paul-O?

How do I make a background like in the attached pic?

The faded background - increase the size of the brushes, add a gaussian blur and reduce the opacity. Then add the black lines and there you go. :)

    you know what i think...

I'm always surprised when someone posts here who admits that they struggle with English and wonder if there are not equivalent forums in their language. That said, I think it's fantastic when a person goes to that kind of trouble to post here!! Some of our regular posters are not native...

How to Recreate Something Similar to this

I totally agree with the posters above. Creativity is not about the technique. The technique is a tool used to express creativity. That said, however, this is not the type of style that can easily be imitated by a beginner. The above is a rich composition of layers upon layers upon layers...

    Create Frozen Effects HELP!! :(

Very nice! Some specific suggestions: Part of what makes the original so cool is the water splash texture inside the figure. That part is completely lost in this composition where the clothing is. I'm not sure whether that's an opacity issue with other layers or what. In fact, if it was my...

Advice for starting a photoshop meetup group

One thing...please don't be disappointed if you don't get a lot of turnout. Using Photoshop is essentially a solitary pursuit. While there is rampant interest in Photoshop itself, there might not be a lot of interest in getting together and talking about it. I've tried on several occasions...

    Image "wheel"

I looked at your psd, so the colors below refer to that. Put a layer mask on the yellow layer and mask off the part that the gray-ish square is supposed to be covering. I would use the polygonal lasso tool for that so that you can get absolutely straight lines. Hope that helps

    Create Frozen Effects HELP!! :(

Well now. This is quite an advanced tutorial for a very new beginner! If you've gotten to the point of the top to bottom gradient and your picture looks like theirs, you are doing quite well indeed! OK....Gradients. I put a slightly altered picture of my cat on a fantasy landscape with a...

    Rate my grphic please

I wanted to share these brushes with you. They are free to download (may the Maker bless DeviantArt!!). I have found them to be waaaaay more useful than I thought they would be when I first tried them out, and often as a substitute for a lens flare. They might not suit in this application...

    free transform LOCK button

There is no way to make it the default with a setting, unfortunately. I do a lot of photo work and it sure would be handy to be able to toggle that on and off!

Dude....that is unexpressably creepy!! Nice work.

    Rate my grphic please

I would agree, actually. It is the one element instantly recognizable as a photoshop fix. There are plenty of brushes and effects that would give you the same kind of effect without being JUST LIKE everyone else's graphic.

Ah.... missed that part.... I understand why - it's not as big as Adobe, but big enough!
