    New Layer Vs. Adjustment Layer

The slider setting on the layers window should stay where you put it for each layer. The slider setting on the brush won't - it will default to 100%. At least mine does.

Few Photos from Todays Beach Trip

LOVE the iguana! Such a handsome fellow. I know they can get very big, so I'm in the boat with Dreamers - wouldn't want to wake up with him looking at me wondering if I would be tasty. Really excellent shots, MotoChief. You have a wonderful eye!

    Opinions Please!!! Pick which font......

I need some opinions. I need to finish this and I've been staring at it so long that I've lost my eye. Which font do you like best on this poster?

    New Layer Vs. Adjustment Layer

I can only give you my own rules of thumb - your mileage may vary. I add a new layer when I'm adding something new or covering something up - in other words making "major" changes to piece. I add an adjustment layer when I'm making changes to something that's already there. For example, if I...

    Spam

There are ways to make a forum largely spam-free, but all or most of them make it harder to join - enhanced captcha, questions to answer, administrator approval of new members, etc. The lifeblood of this particular forum is the constant flow of people through here asking questions, getting...

    Spam

I run a forum, too, and it is impossible to win the war with spammers without locking down the forum completely. I have SIX people on staff and the scum still gets through. We all have lives and don't want to spend all our time online with a high-powered spam eradicating rifle shooting down...

    selection question

Paul is right. The best and most accurate tool in the drawer in Photoshop is the pen tool. That said, my best friend these days is the layer mask if I'm working quickly and/or working for the web where resolution is not such an issue. Copy the whole layer, color it to suit, then mask out...

What Photoshop improvements would be good for this drawing?

I completely agree with the other posters here. It's really REALLY nice as it is. If you want or need to add color, you could give the background the barest wash of very pale color or put a little mauve in the shadows. I wouldn't touch the cat - he's quite wonderful.

    Affair font trouble?

LOL - No, I'm in the San Francisco bay area. I LOVE LOVE LOVE San Diego, tho. I lived there years ago but had to move up here for a job.

Can I do a challenge? Maybe Week 24?

If not, mods feel free to move this somewhere else. :) Something Steve said earlier caught my attention so I figured I'd just barge right in. For this I challenge all gurus to change day to night. There are lots of tutorials around for doing this. Some examples...

Looking for someone to edit an image for me

Absolutely. Post in photoshop forum below - either general or newbies - and let us know what you want. It might not let you attach a picture without a certain number of posts, but you could upload to Photobucket or something similar. I'm sorry for your loss.

how can i get this effect on photos through photoshop ??

Agreed, Steve, but you can get pretty close to this with manipulating a "regular" photo.

    Reshaping a image

No, I can't reshape yours. I could squish Hoogle's because it was already round. The biggest difference between yours and mine is that yours is not a full circle. So if you mask off part of it, you get something like this, which is what I think you're looking for?

    Copyright Infringement Question

Here's the deal on copyright. Any and all photographs you (or anyone) might take are not automatically copyrighted. If the photograph is simply a record of how the mountain looked on that day it is not subject to copyright. In order for a work to be eligible for copyright it must show some...
