Same here; very much like the Arthur Rackham paintings and illustrations - dark brown and sombre!

    Canon Eos 350D 100% PS

that's a very impressive piece of work - all the more so for being done entirely in Photoshop. I would have thought a 3D programme if you hadn't said. Did you just do the back of the camera?

How do we get this site back on line?

For what it's worth I think things began to go very quiet when Wendy left.

    A fishy tale

Originally a picture created by Artmatic - suggesting a fish, and then worked on in Photoshop with ferns, bubbles etc added.

How do we get this site back on line?

I've glanced in from time to time and it struck me things had begun to go really quiet. Not that I've had much to post recently; but I'll find some more bits and pieces for your comments. Cheers!

    Post Your Latest Pictures !

Had to hunt round to find anything recent - well, this one was taken about 5 years ago, I think. You wouldn't believe I used to have a head of unruly golden curls, now, would you? (Going back some 60 years, of course!)

What does your wallpaper look like?

Thought it time I posted something again. Here's the desktop I'm using at the moment. The previous one is still on the older Mac (PowerMac 7300); this one is on the newre Mac (G5).

    Illustrator AI10, OSX.3, Printers

Now you've got me puzzled. I have Ill9 on my older machine (running OS8?6) and the choice of printers depends on what's selected in the Chooser - the inkjet or the laserjet. (If the laserjet there's also the choice of PDF or "Virtual Printer"). Did you have printers listed in the Chooser that...

    Illustrator AI10, OSX.3, Printers

If the USB printer has never been connected then OSX won't know about it. If you try to add a printer and it's not switched on then the Mac won't be able to find it.

    Illustrator AI10, OSX.3, Printers

I can't reproduce the problem - I have two printers - b/w HP Laserjet 6MP and Epson Stylus Photo R1800. Normally the HP is powered up and the R1800 isn't. Here's a screenshot from Illustrator where the (not powered) R1800 has been set up. or have I misunderstood? (OS 10.3.9, Illustrator CS2)

    The January Free For All

Re: Shaun It took several goes with the mouse before I got what I wanted! Another method I used was the "disappearing trick" (as someone called it). Type your name (or make a logo) and reduce the layer fill opacity to 0. Then add a slight drop shadow layer style effect.

    Stupid Application Tricks (&tips)

Re: Wonderful! Just Photoshop CS2. "Cleopatra" picture pinched from somewhere on the Web. I duplicated the layer and then warped it until I got an effect I liked. What I find fascinating is the way you can twist pictures so you can see the other side. Here's another picture that makes use of...

    The January Free For All

Re: Further stuff With a monogram - similar to attached - no background, and using a layer style that suits the picture it's on. So it's obvious but unobtrusive. I "drew" the signature with the mouse in Photoshop.

    Dissing Avatars

Not sure that my moggie would appreciate being messed about with! Here's another avatar I use elsewhere (Dr Who stuff)
