    Changing a house's color

    Thanks folks! I appreciate all the feedback you guys gave me. JoeD, for being able to sit with my neighbor and help him visualize colors on his house I think the job you did is perfect! It looks realistic enough to give him an idea of how a color will look on a large-scale.

    Changing a house's color

    Hey folks. Here's a question/challenge for you. My neighbor removed the siding from his house. We wanted to try out different paint colors to see what would look nice when he re-finishes the clapboard. What I'd like to do is virtually paint his house (but have it look realistic)...

    Hey Mothman - stop kissing up, I was this close to getting a new tutorial! :P I'd love to see some tutorials on photo manipulation. A few weeks ago, I posted a request to get some help from Erik in the Photography section on a particular effect that really caught my eye. A few days...

    A special painted effect...

    I have an idea... Why don't we all chip in - buy the book - make copies and sell it on the internet? :D Is that wrong? Just kidding. I know what you mean Sahin. I contemplated the same thing. I thought to myself "Am I really good enough to take advantage of the materials, or am I...

    Tutorials...

    In case you photoshop gurus are waiting for one of us to ask: Would someone please post a tutorial? There's nothing like a good tutorial to remind the rest of us of how much we don't know! :bustagut: Just kidding. I really appreciate all the work that Mark and the other moderators...

    A special painted effect...

    I actually found his site last week. Great work! But, a small fee? I looked up the price and it is 200 Euros ($250 USD). I'm not saying that it's not worth the money - I'm just saying a small fee to me is about $20 bucks. $250 is more of an investment!!! Neolite. P.S. In his...

    Well, the good news is I do have a wacom tablet so your lesson wasn't wasted on me. I've been unable to do any work on this project the entire week. I plan on spending a few hours today (Saturday) and going through all of your lessons above. I like the way you spread it out over a course...

    WOW Sheba [stuned] You certainly are a fast learner! I'm still at the infancy stage on mine. Keep up the good work :righton: ...and be prepared to explain to someone like me how you did it.

    I'm not really clear on what you mean by "more than just a simple first dot" I drag the triangles and notice that the image starts out white then parts of the image begin showing up. When I click OK, I don't really understand what I'm looking for? 8}

    better pictures for our experiment! Erik, After reading your comments above, I decided to take a few pictures with the intent of using them for our charcoal drawing. I asked my friend to be the subject. Here are 2 that I think should meet your criteria. Let me know which one we should use:

    Photos to consider Erik, Here is a group of photos I have taken. I am just going to post the thumbnails @ 25% quality (very small). Each thumbnail will link you to the larger pic on my PC. There are (4) pics that I scanned from prints. The rest are all from my Canon. The ones that...

    Sounds like a great idea Erik. I can't wait to see what people come up with. Being that I'm not as skilled at photoshop as some of you, can I ask that we work on a picture of someone's face so I have some level of comparision against Darren's original works? I have some pictures I took w/...

    Thanks Nitro. I agree. The snowdog is my favorite as well. I also like the one where the guy is standing in front of the billboard. I'd love to see someone try and reproduce the effects. Erik, are you up for the challenge???

    I saw a series of works by Darren Levant and was blown away. I assumed they were charcoal drawings but discovered they are actually photographs. Can someone point me to the general techniques used to give this unique look?
