    >>>MY PHOTOSHOP CRASHED!!!<<<

The same exact thing happened to me not too long ago, the same exact fix fixed it, no other problems since. I was ripping my hair out at this one, glad you got it figured out quicker than i did.

    Performing a photo makeover

One thing this tutorial does not explain in depth--and it is a concept you MUST grasp if you are to ever use photoshop at an intermediate level--is masks. So you have two layers on top of one another. Say you want only certain parts to show on the top layer, how do you cut them out so that the...

    Observation on The Clone Stamp

Yeah, that's a great idea Mark! I never got thinking that far at that moment, but that makes sense. Thanks! I really don't see how cloning attributes of an adjustment layer onto a pixel based layer is useful, it seems like its almost a bug in the program because it undermines the convenience of...

    Observation on The Clone Stamp

Youre not cloning the adjustment layer(that would be impossible), youre cloning the pixels along with the attributes of any adjustment layer. This is only applicable if "Use all layers" is checked.

    Observation on The Clone Stamp

Okay, so a faulty assumption i've always had with the clone stamp is that, when "use all layers" is checked is that it clones only pixels from layers WITH PIXELS(as opposed to adj. layers which are non-pixel layers). But it also clones also whatever ADJUSTMENT LAYERS do to the pixels. Example: I...

    comments and some help

I think it looks great! Sorry I couldn't comment earlier...I like the way the eyes balance. I might try to work some more detail on the right eye. I don't know about the text though, I might try to rework the positioning. I love the typeface though.

    Digital Dark Art

FIRST OFF: Welcome to the forum!! What kind of answer do you want? How about this: 1. File-->New 2. Filter-->Render-->Clouds.....? NO. First go to Art School, or spend A LOT of time practicing with paints and colors either traditionally or digitally. Develop a style over a couple years...

    Rollover efect

Hey, what you want to do, and I create rollovers all of the time without using ImageReady--in fact, the only thing I use ImageReady for is animated .gifs--what you want to do is create your "up" state, which means what you want it to look like when the user is not hovering their mouse over it--...

Animated Snow. How was it made?

If you use Dreamweaver, I believe you can create this kind of effect using the "Timeline" feature. I've never used it myself, but just a pointer...

Coloring a Black and White photo

The best one I have found is here: http://www.worth1000.com/tutorial.asp?sid=161018 . It shows a technique that is often overlooked - using cmyk curves and masks, instead of using brushes and blend modes. Have fun!

    Focus Magic

Yeah, I got the soap bubbles thing too, when bringing it into PS and sharpening an insane amount... This product does a great job, better than PS in the areas it says it does(upres-ing, de-blurring[aka unsharp masking]) But it is not perfect...but a great jpeg coping tool.....

    PS and Fireworks to Dreamweaver

I'm a heavy Photoshop/Dreamweaver user, and I agree with Mark, tables are better. In time they may become better but I have not as of yet found them to be as flexible. As for the other question: I think I read that in Fireworks you can specify which slice will house the content, but I use...

    Question about displays

I have a 17" LCD display and its great for a lot of things, including some Photoshop work. Remember that LCDs are a lot brighter and will display colors differently than the standard CRT monitors that most people use. But LCDs look a lot cooler, take up less space, and its my opinion that the...

    Going from Photoshop to Dreamweaver...

div tags just make life a lot easier by setting attributes for other tags, and photoshop uses this tag to create its tables by default. poke around in the "edit output settings", there is a way to specify the name of the folder you want to save your images in, and also to not save them in a...

    Going from Photoshop to Dreamweaver...

Well, if you're using windows and are primarily designing for a page that will be viewed in explorer, all of the default options for generating tables is fine. To see the HTML options, and some other options, go to "edit output settings".

    Going from Photoshop to Dreamweaver...

I would say that getting to know a little HTML is going to be worth your while, because in Dreamweaver you're able to find and replace code or text in your entire site. For me this has proven an extremely useful tool.
