Another way to sharpen is to sharpen only the edges using an "edge mask" --see this thread.... http://www.photoshopgurus.info/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3296

    Points and Control Handles

Ive figured out that if I go to the paths pallette and click in an empty gray spot in that pallette, this "deselects" the path and no longer applies the path as a vector mask in any adjustment layers, until you go to your work path and reselect it. Possibly there is an easier way to do this...?

    Points and Control Handles

Here is the screenshot of the image im working with. I have a wedge shaped path in the bottom corner and all of the adjustment layers are grabbing this as a vector mask, even when the path isnt visible. I know I can just trash the vector mask by dragging it to the garbage can, but surely there...

    Points and Control Handles

Ive figured out question #1(answer: by using convert point tool and dragging on the point), but the other 2 still stand. Thanks

    Points and Control Handles

Ok, 3 questions: 1. With the pen tool/selection tools, if i've made a point and it has no control handles, how do i make it so that it has control handles? 2. If a point has 2 control handles, how do I delete one of them? 3. When im working on a path how do I make it so that PS doesn't...

    Selecting all layers

Ok. First you need to link your text layers. To link them, press the left mouse key in the middle box in the layers pallette(fig. 1). This should add a little chain in that box. Then you need to activate the layer that you want all centering to be relative to. To do this, just click on that...

    Selecting all layers

I think i know what youre asking. Photoshop could select all layers, theoretically, just the way youd select a whole bunch of files all at once. But the difference between that and Photoshop is that Photoshop has no idea what to apply to all of the layers. So it has some advanced "select all"...

How can you save an RGB image as greyscale?

This is probably the best method because its just an adjustment layer and is infinitely tweakable. 24, 68, 8. Yeah that sounds like a good greyscale image. The G channel always has the best info, but sometimes lacks some detail that the R channel has. and the B channel, well the B channel is...

How can you save an RGB image as greyscale?

Yeah, you could post the goodies in a .zip file. I don't have my install cd anymore, it got lost when I moved, and i still havent found it. :( :( :( :(

    Help with slicing

For pictures with gradations like that, you probably want to save them as jpegs, not gifs. Gifs are good for things with just a few colors, like your left hand logo. Im also curious about slices too. Particularly whether you can save one slice as a jpeg and another as a gif. This particular...

    Selection tools are inaccurate.

That is a wierd fluke. Ive never heard of a feature that would create jaggedy noisy edges along your selections. Are you filling the selections via the edit-->fill command or brushing them in, or....? The only way I could think of duplicating this is if "noise" is checked for your brush...

    Create a contour map

You could use it as a basis for another style of line drawing. Put a duplicate underneath and set to linear light. Tweak as necessary... :righton:

    Create a contour map

To easily create a contour map from a photo, go to filter-->cutout. Set Edge Simplicity to 0 and number of levels to 8. Then go to filter-->find edges. There it is. You might want to desaturate it and/or add a hue/saturation adjustment layer depending on the effect you are going for. Just...

How can you save an RGB image as greyscale?

Saving it in Greyscale has nothing to do with any save command options. While you have your document open go to Image-->Mode-->Greyscale. Then save as usual. Make sure to keep a copy of the original.

    What style

Id do exactly what wbiss said, except i'd just do add noise, then blur very slightly, then select a square of it as a pattern(edit-->define pattern)(there are probably inbuilt texture patterns that are good to use in ps). then use the texture option under bevel in the blending options(right...
