    3D New Poser Thread

Erik, I followed a long and winding path looking for info on HDRI's and discovered that there is a plug-in pack for Terragen which will allow the conversion of Terragen generated scenery into HDRI format. Wouldn't it have been nice if the same happened with Bryce 5 before Corel bellied-up...

    Digital 'vs' Traditional?

Eastman Kodak also announced global lay-offs in their workforce due to the increase in 'consumer' digital cameras. I think that top end commercial photographers will still stick with the large format Hasselblads and such. The prices of the top end cameras are still in the thousands. That...

Hi Tanya, you called for an octopus? Check your Photoshop colour settings and make sure that the 'Black Point Compensation' button is unchecked. Under the Advanced Controls (same window) make sure that the Desaturate Monitor colours is unchecked as well. Are you working in RGB or CMYK...

Lily, I had a peek at your site and it worked fine using Safari. Some nice pictures in the Gallery, but I think you could make them even better. You are a Gurette after all. ;) Nothing too complicated, just a wee tweak here and there. If it's OK with you, I'll put a couple (Split 7 &...

HELP!!! How do I make a brochure?

Could you be a bit more specific on the something? i.e. File type, resolution, RGB or CMYK, dimensions. Is it placed or linked? Have you scaled the image? A screenshot section of the problem can help as well. Al.

In Photoshop 5 you could try: Filters > Stylize > Find Edges. Filters > Stylize > Glowing Edges and then desaturate. Use these along with maybe a Curves adjustment for experimenting. Try running these filters on a duplicate layer and then twiddle with the blending mode. Al.

HELP!!! How do I make a brochure?

Get hold of any leaflet and look at how it is set out when flattened. Note where the front cover lies on the page. Get a sheet of A4 and fold it into a mock up, noting the direction of the folds. Pencil in the content with blocks. Indicate images, text, straplines etc. Set up...

    Help with Photoshop problem

Usually, if you hovered over a tool you would see the tool name (Tool Tip) appear. This can be turned on / off in the preferences. If you click on a tool it should only select the available (visible) tool. If you click and hold, the extra tools appear in the fly-out. I can only assume...
