    I think it is possible, but your need is indeed not clear. Would it be possible for you to make us a screenshot of some layers to group with the name of the layers and their groups. Just a little simulation would be worth all the explanations.

    I think that this texture is not good for two reasons : 1) it will be difficult to avoid the phenomenon of repetition 2) tiles are too small. In a word, it would be best to tell us what general effect you want to achieve (dark tiles for example). Trying textures one by one cannot be a good plan.
