How to create transparent shapes with outline/border in CS3

I'm looking at it at 67% looks very jagged but the saved image doesn't. That's weird. Sorry I should have checked before posting. It's good now. Thank you again for the assistance.

How to create transparent shapes with outline/border in CS3

Just one last thing. The diagonal roof line, the white is very jagged. Is there a fix for it?

How to create transparent shapes with outline/border in CS3

I'm having trouble following. The tutorial link is the link I posted. I put the house shape layer in a group, then make the selection (Ctrl+A?) > choose layer > layer mask > hide selection then the house goes missing. I'm not sure.

How to create transparent shapes with outline/border in CS3

Hi, I'm having difficulty following a tutorial and could use some help. The image I'm trying to replicate is: type "how to design an epic hipster badge in photoshop" on youtube and you can see it on the thumbnail, no need to watch the video. The guy is using probably a more current version of...

Why do my fonts look choppy/boxy??/grainy?

The original lettering definitely looks better on close up as opposed to the anti-aliasing one but for other fonts it's so great especially ones that I don't use the white strokes. Thank you for the compliment and all the information.

Why do my fonts look choppy/boxy??/grainy?

I meant I'll try it when I work on my next one, even then I only tried it in the middle when putting the font in :p It's a massive improvement IMO.

Why do my fonts look choppy/boxy??/grainy?

Holy **** it is the thing Hybrid suggested! Working on a bigger canvas is so much better!! Thanks a lot guys, got more than just one thing out of it!

Why do my fonts look choppy/boxy??/grainy?

Yes I tried quite a few, the cursive ones tend to have this effect more, that's why I'm wondering cause if you look at the third image I don't see any jaggedness. When it's used as a sig, it's resized to 300x100 and there's no jaggedness just kinda blurry. I will try the few things that were...

Why do my fonts look choppy/boxy??/grainy?

I see. Why is his fonts better? It's almost too obvious the difference in quality. Are all 4 images I posted visible? The third curvy writing is not jagged at all to me.

Why do my fonts look choppy/boxy??/grainy?

 Do you see the images I posted? It's the work from the other guy. That's what my first two sentences are a response to.

Why do my fonts look choppy/boxy??/grainy?

I know it's bigger but the resized version doesn't have jagged edges like mine either. I don't know why this one appeared so big, I only put it cos it was the same size as mine. Is it better to work on a bigger size then output it to the 300x100? Would that change anything quality wise?

Why do my fonts look choppy/boxy??/grainy?

I'm not well that well versed with Photoshop so I don't know what to expect but ask because I've seen it done. Another guy on the forum has pretty smooth wording, he uses the same size to make his sigs. I wouldn't even have known it was a problem had I not seen a better version. I thought it was...

Why do my fonts look choppy/boxy??/grainy?

I've been making signatures in my past time and every time I add a font to it, I find it being very choppy, like pixel around the edges. I don't know why. The sigs are relatively small 300x100. Here's an example, check out the "A" it's so obvious.

    Pen tool jagged lines?

I didn't mean anything by it, don't take offense. The video is long and the part is pretty short. Here's the pic: It's actually color lookup, not lockup. My bad on that.

    Pen tool jagged lines?

It was located at the layer bar, the adjustment layer (half black, half white circle) where the curves, levels, photo filter, etc. is. That's what it's called in the video. It's not that important if you're unsure what I'm talking about.

    Pen tool jagged lines?

No worries, it helped tons and I've learned some new things in the process. Just one last thing, is there anything similar to color lockup in CS3? I should be able to learn via Youtube but I don't know what it might be called in CS3.
