    When Photoshop exports a gif or a jpeg, BigData (the data that could extend over the image limits) is trimmed. Is the image flattened before exporting to gif? Do you use Save for Web?

    Online, there are many tutorials on channel masking, I recommend to read several to get a grasp of the different techniques. Maybe post the ones you found more useful, for other members. Feel free to ask questions if you need more info!

    Could you post the picture? If the face was not shot parralel to the focus plane (the forehead closer to the camera than the mouth, for instance), simply distorting it might make it look even more tilted.

    Just a clarification, do you have Photoshop 5.0 or Photoshop Elements 5.0? In Photoshop, just drag and drop one picture knight to the castle one. Then use layer masks (mouseover the icons at the bottom of your layers palette) to hide the parts that you do not want in your layer.
