    Company ID Size Resolution

Illustrator is my favorite, but there are others. The main thing is that you want to be able to easily resize the logo without losing any resolution or quality and this usually means creating vector artwork, which is what Illustrator does. I sometimes use CorelDRAW for logo work, it is also a...

    Company ID Size Resolution

If you are creating the company ID the best way to go is to create the ID in Illustrator as a vector graphic, that way you can resize as needed with no loss of resolution. When I create a company logo I usually make it full page in Illustrator (8.5x11). Then I create several different standard...

    Illustrator Joining paths

Hi, you need to use Live Paint Bucket. Here is a demo: Draw a circle object Next draw a line from the top to the bottom of the circle. The line will be a separate path from the circle The look will be a circle divided by a line into two parts, left and right Now using the Direct Selection Tool...

    brushes for paintings?

Hi Michael, in the brushes drop down list look at the additional drop down options menu. You will find more sets of brushes that you can add to the default set. Look at the Wet Media brushes. These have some jitter to them where the thickness changes in a random manner. In Photoshop CS5 and up...

    brushes for paintings?

Hi Michael, you need to look at a couple of settings for the brushes. First look at the hardness setting, you can go from completely hard edge to a very very soft edge. Pick the hardness setting that most closely matches the look you want. Second look at the opacity and flow settings, these will...

What is " Hide layer Brightness/Contrast 1" over layer "Layers 1" over layer "Curves

Re: What is " Hide layer Brightness/Contrast 1" over layer "Layers 1" over layer "Cu Hi, I wouldn't just remove the step. I am sure that the Brightness/Contrast was used in a previous step and now it is no longer needed. If you just remove the step then the Brightness/Contrast may still be...

Help creating Superman the Movie Credits in Photoshop shop CS5.5

Hi Alexei, No, not the subscription photoshop. That was done in Photoshop CS6 Extended. I am sure though that the Photoshop CC subscription version has the same feature. I am starting creating a new training title for Photoshop CC this weekend so I will be able to double check that next week...

Help creating Superman the Movie Credits in Photoshop shop CS5.5

Here is a shot from Photoshop CS6 using the Extrude Text command, I only spent a couple of seconds on this

Help creating Superman the Movie Credits in Photoshop shop CS5.5

That is probably done in Illustrator, but Photoshop CS6 and up has a nice Extrude Text option that works with the 3D controls that will do a lot of what you are looking for. Personally I would use Illustrator for the extrude and then maybe a little touch-up in Photoshop. Of course a good 3D...

Photomerge chooses blurred images - how to correct.

Hi Jon, have you tried erasing the areas in the pictures that you don't want merged? As long as there is some image overlap Photoshop will be able to merge the images, you don't have to use the whole image. Take two images, make sure there is a good amount of overlap. Now on one of the images...

What is " Hide layer Brightness/Contrast 1" over layer "Layers 1" over layer "Curves

Re: What is " Hide layer Brightness/Contrast 1" over layer "Layers 1" over layer "Cu Hi, lots of times steps in Actions are used for a certain step and then hidden in later steps once their use is no longer needed. All depends on how long the script is. Just a wild guess since I don't know the...

Help creating Superman the Movie Credits in Photoshop shop CS5.5

Hi Alexei, you can improve the look a little bit more by using the Brightness/Contrast control on the blend layer and push the Brightness all the way to the top. Still not as nice as using the Blend control in a program like Illustrator or CorelDRAW, but getting closer. George

Creating links on a banner image

Hi, sure, you can use slices to give an image different targets for links. Basically slices divide one large image up into several smaller images then puts those images into a html table. Since those are all now individual images each one can have its own link. Create the image and slices in...

Seeking criticism: What issues to address in Ferrari retouch/composite ad?

Hi RyzOn, my first question would be "what is your intended use for the image?". The reason I ask is that the top half of the image is basically plain. If this is an ad piece then I would assume text will be going up there, so I would like to see how the text interacts with the image. If this is...

Help creating Superman the Movie Credits in Photoshop shop CS5.5

Hi theonlyhtexaspete, Here is one solution that I came up with that will work with almost any version of Photoshop using basic tools. Not an exact match but pretty close. Create Type with a layer effect stroke for the blue outline, I used Arial Black Copy layer Rasterizer Type, convert layer...

Help creating Superman the Movie Credits in Photoshop shop CS5.5

Hi theonlytexaspete, I haven't had a chance to give this a good look yet, but the demo you showed could probably be duplicated in Illustrator using the Illustrator Blend tool if you have that program. Also you might want to try Arial Black for the font, I think it is closer to the sample.

    Hi!

Thanks for the welcome. Actually I started way back with version 2, not CS2 (which was version 8), back in the stone age. Before Photoshop I used that rock, paper, scissors program MacPaint.

    Hi!

Thanks, sorry I can't help on the CS2 installer. I normally don't hang onto old copies much past 1 previous version. PS2 was the last version that I really liked completely. Since then Adobe insists on adding in a lot of stuff that really belongs in other programs.

Hi theonlytexaspete, Are you trying to do the animation in PS or just a still image? Would require different techniques.

Very nicely done. Curious about that ferris wheel in the background, how did you get that "lit up" effect? And it must have taken you forever to mask out around those spokes.
