Could someone point me in the direction of a tutorial....

Don't look fake to me. Very good, qualitative studio shot (and Lost could afford it) plus (like man said) lights and shadows and some color toning.

Help! How to make this text effect?

You can smooth it by making text twice (or something) bigger as needed. It will look even more similiar. At least first attempt i did on scaled one it it looked 99,5% similiar. So make it big. Rasterize (convert to plain image/layer) and then size down. That's a little cheating of course but...

    Opposites attract

Not at all mate, not at all. Your works is cool and i wish i could do such stuff. And anyway i've mess with other images so many times without asking any permission so that could restore balance (Karma and stuff). Quality of that image isn't great. If you want i can send full sized one.

    How to do this

What can i say, it's almost definetly isn't PS. First what came in mind is Illustrator with it's 3D & bevels. Or it could be any other 3D rendering soft.

Help! How to make this text effect?

That's a secret :) Actually i saw that it has same beveal effect as hoogle's glass letters on wallpaper he showed (and there was one thread about it). I liked that effect and recent i saw tutorial about that glass text and checked it out. That was 90% (or even 99%) of problem. All other was...

Saving As Tiff Gives Inaccurate View

I must say i'm not sure for 100% about that but canvas material is rough so it don't need 300dpi and image can be enlarged without damage. It don't change physical percentage if you change profile in preferences (that change only how PS show it). You should Edit/Convert to Profile. But with both...

Help! How to make this text effect?

Is this good enough? :) P.S. I think something wrong with my font. It should be more smooth but it isn't. And that is strange but i don't want to spent time to find out what's frong with it.

Saving As Tiff Gives Inaccurate View

Changing to 8bit don't change total ink, cmyk profile don't restrict to have bigger total ink as it theoreticly want to be. If you make image in cmyk and use layer blending options like multiply etc, it'll produce too much colors at the end.

Saving As Tiff Gives Inaccurate View

Theoreticly no, there isn't any limits to size. Practicly, it have to fit paper obviously. Usually it's A4 or A3, max A2. Your's fit A4 format so no problem with that. But still i suggest to reduce colors coverage (or how it's in english). If you'll print on home printer i'm pretty sure you'll...

Saving As Tiff Gives Inaccurate View

By the way, where you gone print that? Total Ink is way to high. Practicly 400%. Than will not end well. You better convert it to some CMYK profile. Consult people who will print it for which profile is better. And, of course, change 16bit -> 8bit/Channel.

Saving As Tiff Gives Inaccurate View

First, windows image viewer (i don't have that image maping but most if viewers works similiar) will show wrong colors because you have cmyk file but viewer try it show as rgb and you can ignore that. Second, your image is 16bit per channel. Maybe that's a problem. Anyway for printing you need...
