    I have had quite a busy day dee, hence why I was unable to get on. To reduce noise, Filter>Noise>Reduce Noise I can't remember what settings I used as I no longer have the .psd but you should be able to figure it out.

    Try it yourself again but keep the file size of the cover image below 93K. Any larger and facebook mangles it down and totally messes up quality. Once you have created your image, use 'Save for Web' to ensure it's below 93K. The image you have linked to is around 53K.

    I am seeing lots of contrast on this. Blacks are really black and greys are almost white. Use levels to try and get near this effect. Pretty much anything above black has lots of noise too, you can get this by going to: Filters>Add Noise>Monochrome/Gaussian. Also you can use your blur tool...
