    p?tr??k ... sharpening in between the 'spherise' and the 'scale down' helps to sort the 'pixelly middle' .... \:/ ... or it might be after scaling .... \:/ also (again from memory) a small 'spherise' improves the 'look'...... refer theFounder's Mercator tutorial on this site for the finer...

    ronmatt ... that image motivated me ... so I had play, was going reasonably ok too (not to your high standard ... but I was happy with it) ... but I just haven't fathomed how you did the 'pinch' part (umm, I guessed that you used the pinch filter) ... care to share??

    ronmatt .. thanks for that .... I did do a google search .. but didn't think of trying just 'backdrop' [doh] ... I should have 'cos, amateur theatre here still use them when suitable ... geesh, I'd better start copying my 'old' image cd's tonight!! ...... \:/ and my music cd's ... \:/ does...

    Shaun .. I think it is probably a painted canvas backdrop ... used so that the photographer could change the background 'theme' in the same studio ... but perhaps one of our photographer members could enlighten us more
