    Or you could get a nice clean cut out using the pen tool? The easiest way to use the pen tool is to make two points then add one in the middle, hold shift or ctrl cant remember which one :'( and use it to curve the pen line into the correct position.     could you not just use the rectangle tool and set it to the same red and and straighten up the right side?

    Wolf Walk: work in progress

    Overall idea looks good, but for me you can tell that the wolves dont belong in that image due to the lighting. You need to mess around with the adjustment layers of the wolves. Maybe darken them a bit would make them look more "in place"
