    Torn fabric effect

Thanks for the tips. What I'm doing is just a quick mockup of what the arm sleeves would look like with the torn effect, I don't really need the shadows to match up across the image. The guy is basically just a model. This image won't be used for anything else other than showing my friend my...

    Torn fabric effect

Hey all, I'm working on a design for a friend. He is wanting a design to look like it is torn or ripped that reveals another design underneath. I'm using an inner shadow to give it some depth, but my friend thinks it looks like the tear is raised up over the design. Does that make sense...

    70s family photo effect

So, do you think I should talk to the printer and see what they can do about keeping my photo as close as how I edited it? Maybe see if they won't use those "automatic corrections"?

    70s family photo effect

Thanks for all the help and tips guys. Tom Mann had a great explanation and I completely agree. It is really hard to get a true vintage film look. I did some editing and I got a pretty good result for what I was wanting. I got some of these printed up at a local print shop, but I was very...

    70s family photo effect

So, I want to make one of those awkward family photos for a christmas card this year. I know how what needs to be done to get the effect, but I just don't really know HOW to achieve it. The old grainy and washed out effect is giving me a lot of problems and I was wondering if anyone knows of a...

Easy way to remove drop shadow from a flattened image?

I need to edit an image a client sent me, but it is flattened and it has a drop shadow. I need to remove the drop shadow, and I have tried selecting it the best I can, but when I get around the chrome part, it get's really messy. Does anyone have any tips or tricks that would make this easier...

    Blending help

You're right, inkpad.t. I was trying to keep to a theme of backwoods traveling around the country type of of feel. But, I have been looking at alternative ideas for a background.

    Blending help

I can share the files, that's no problem. I think what you described is the method I used though. I cut the truck and trailer out of the background onto a new layer, and then I erased everything but the shadows and kept those on a separate layer. I messed with the layer blends and set the...

    Blending help

I think the shadows might be my hardest thing to fix. I have no idea how to make under shadows for cars.

    Blending help

The light source is one of the main things I wanted to fix. I was probably going to try to use a lens flare to cover up some of the truck and trailer and hide the highlights. I figured that would blend the image a little better, on top of using what iamsam suggested with the solid color...

    Blending help

So, I'm in the middle of making a composite for a friend of mine. He's opening a food trailer business and he wanted to see what his truck and trailer would look like and to send something to investors. I really haven't had any luck finding the right background that I have in mind, but the one I...

    Protecting a design

When it comes to my personal designs, I cover myself by using watermarks, but only if it's something I plan to make a financial gain with. If it's just a design I want to share with friends or something, then I usually don't mess with a watermark because I don't care who uses it. I know that...

    Protecting a design

So, I had a first happen to me today. I had a client of mine email me saying their logo was stolen and being used on products for sale. She asked me if she had all the rights to the design and I told her yes. She paid me the money and I relinquished all the rights over to her. I found the...

Need to see if changing the color is possible.

That was my concern at the beginning. I knew the white was so blown out that it would be hard to get a new color to look good. But, I'm going to check out those effects and see what I can do. I appreciate the help.

I've been messing around, but I still can't seem to get rid of the flat look.

    Resizing a psd

It's definitely odd. I would just use convert to smart object instead of rasterizing.
