    Typically there is no need to go over 72dpi for the web. 300dpi is way too big and that's making the file size bigger.     That's a lot better than I could do. The only probably using the gradient is you lose the reflections and gloss effect. But, I can probably blend the image to where that wouldn't be noticeable.
