    change color and leave texture

Just got done running Skin Tune through some paces. Almost impressed, but not quite. Compared it against one of my own homebrew filters, Colour 2 Colour, and the differences were negligable. My filter is specifically for colour cast, but can come awlfully close to what Skin Tune does. Maybe...

    change color and leave texture

Generally the texture is in the Luminosity. Most of the time Colour (Hue + Sat) will work as already stated. But sometimes you might have to take Hue and Sat seperately depending on a few things. Skin Tune: http://www.phototune.com/skintune_intro.html Dak, care to give some of your...

Um, uh, um original art? Well, totally original...

The guy that did that also has an interactive music video out there somewhere. Very well done and just as trippy. edit: Ah, Flow: http://download.omroep.nl/nps/dekortefilm/mixedup/flow/flow.html

    make her dirty

I have extremely mixed feelings about using Displace for this kind of thing. Doing it proper is not easy, and I have yet to find a way of faking it that I'm happy with. What is needed is a height map. The nose will be the highest and be white. Forehead just a little harker. Then cheeks and...

    Chroming/Bronzing

This guys explains if fairly well: http://www.pages.drexel.edu/~weg22/edge.html Notice that his LaPlace kernel is 5x5. I find that a bit extreme and usually use 3x3 with 8 in the center. Either way, make sure Offset is 128. Also notice that the LaPlace kernel beers a striking...

    PC/Win filter: Colour 2 Colour

Intro to Curves by Steve. See Page 3 for the technique that Colour 2 Colour is based on. I feel that it is rather important to understand the basic technique. PC/Win Filter > Tech Slop > Colour 2 Colour Modes: RGB 8-bit, RGB 16-bit Layers palette filename: TS_colour2colour.8bf...

    Chroming/Bronzing

Hmm... got moved to The Sink. Vector Flow Fields and Displace: http://www.ozoneasylum.com/25242 Rather short ramble for the material that I've collected. I was looking into anistropic, which led to gradients, which led to edge detection, which led to Canny, which led to Sobel, which led...

    Chroming/Bronzing

Kinda, Moth. Yes, but not really. Um... As it turns out, my newer ideas aren't really that great. Keep running into the same problem of needing a height map. Without a proper height map, it's just fakery and no better than other variations of fakery. Did you catch my little ramble about...

    Chroming/Bronzing

Wow. Can't believe I almost missed this thread. If you can believe it, I have some new ideas. (Damn you, Moth.) Hopefully by tomorrow I'll have some good stuff. So, keep yer panties on.

    Need a tutorial

My personal favorite: http://www.gurusnetwork.com/tutorial/pen/ Pen rocks! Might be a good time to pull out the old Pen tool challenge again.

    3D Dragon.

That dragon is more like a phoenix - from the ashes! Kind of hard to see with white background. What I can see does look good. While I do remember this, I can't recall how you textured this fella. Refresh my memory, please. Also, are you going to rig him and make him move?

    Discount for PSG Members

My first reaction is that the keyboard is butt ugly and just doesn't fit my style. I don't like fancy-smancy keyboards and my desk just wouldn't allow for something in that shape. Then I looked a little closer and noticed that they are selling stickers to stick my keyboard. Duh! (I thought...

    Silly Lil' Plug-ins Stroker-style

Whoops. Sorry, Joy. I'm making my own filters/plug-ins with Filter Meister. So far just simple plug-ins that I find tremenduous useful (it's my flow). As I get to know things, I'll be writing more complex ones. Welles, Opacity Pump is the only real name that came to mind. From the phrase...

    Silly Lil' Plug-ins Stroker-style

Talking about... filters...? Spec was my inspiration for Opacity Pump because he's such an advocate of the long-winded, stock tool method. Clone tool and all that. I've always wanted Opacity Pump, but probably would have forgetten to write it if it hadn't been for Pierre. It's a good thing.

    Silly Lil' Plug-ins Stroker-style

Thanks, guys. Opacity Pump I have to fix this one a little bit. If (A=00), it will fill with a pixel using a default colour. This is a PS thing that I didn't know about. Needs to be more like: if {A!=0){A=255;} That way it will leave completely transparent pixels alone. In one test, I...

    Silly Lil' Plug-ins Stroker-style

Burned the oil. Burned a candle at both ends and even a little bit in the middle. If you have my old ones, please delete them. As a favor to me and my idiocy. Extract plug-ins to your plug-in directory. Will be Filter > Tech Slop. All are beta 1 and have no real error checking just...

Make this picture color + better

In the quick paint job that I did, the forehead looks sickly yellow/green to me. However, the hue for that part is around 20 degrees, which is actually orange/red. Humans perceive things one way, and a computer "sees" the data another way. It can be really frustrating at times. As far as...

Make this picture color + better

Ah! Going nuts! Take what you've done so far. Copy the original and order it to the top of the Layers palette. Set the blending mode to Luminosity. You should see a marked difference. There is kind of a 'order of operations' going on. Luminosity will act as a 'clamp', so to speak...
