Heavy saturation without noise or artifacts

I understand. I was just lamenting that all of those lovely videos are gone from public view. An understandable move, but still a bit of a shame as they used to be free.

Heavy saturation without noise or artifacts

Hmmm... Deke. Used to be on Apple's site with several other really good ones. Looks like they are gone in favor of a CD. http://www.creativemac.com/HTM/58Seconds/2000/12_00/adobephotoshop/adobephotoshop-page1.htm

    3D Simple Bryce 5, some PS7

Bryce > Export to OBJ 3DS Max > Import OBJ You can get a Max OBJ import (obj2max) plugin from here: http://www.habware.at/duck4.htm.

    Stroking paths (PS6)

When you stroke a path, double-check the spacing on the selected brush. If the spacing isn't lower than 15% or so, it can look bumpy funky. That's about the only thing I can think of right now.

How to create your perfect world... and other stuff.

Pi is about a mathemagician savant of sorts. He can do massive number crunching in his head. Although, he is perfectly functional unlike an idiot savant. He's doing research on statistics using the the stock market. He's trying to find a pattern in the seemingly random numbers in hopes of...

Makes me want to watch the movie Pi again.

3D Need help with realistik Lighting effect...

Attenuation - You need a light with proper attenuation. Put an omni light right over that part of the desk and attenuate it to fade before it gets to the far wall. Personally, I would render a few different lighting passes and then comp them together in PS.

    How would I make this?

Hey, I know the second image! It was done with a Renderman compliant renderer as a part of an SL tutorial. Not sure if I can find a link, though. I'm not sure if the first one is a part of the same tutorial, but I do know that it was done with 3d program. The "noise with a spike" trick in...

    question.. Kai's Power Tools download?

Last I knew, KPT was discontinued as seperate series. Instead, they took the best of the different series and bundled them up. No longer developed as far as I know. Called something like KPT Suite or something. Also, I have never seen a demo of any of KPT for download. If you look around, you...

One of those chunks of code

Holy crud. I finally got all of my code to play nice. I am very amazed at the results that I've been getting. I'm a genius and that's all there is to it. More details later.

One of those chunks of code

Comments in the code aren't my style. I keep things on regular paper. I even rip out important pages, or rewrite them, and keep them in a bigger folder. I've been doing it this way for over 20 years. It's what works for me. Like I said, I have 3 pages of scribbles explaining those few...

One of those chunks of code

Working on some urinary bitwise junk in VB. During the course of the day, I have jotted down several pages of notes. I wrote the code, and made sure that it works properly. A few minutes later, I have no idea how it works. a$ = Mid$(txtStage1.Text, i, 1) x = Asc(a$) b$ = Mid$(total2$...

    Why So Hostile & Repressive?

Tom, every relationship is based on value exchange. If one side of the coin takes with out giving, then its just plain theft. If you think about it hard enough, you just might get it. Me? Yeah, I'm the guy that keeps blasting you. You see, these forums are considered private property with...

Amazing work, but was it done with photoshop?

Welles, I'm pretty sure the funky lighting is coming from a light on the porch. If you look at the floor, you can see that it juts out a little bit. Then follow it up and there is a lamp. I think the funky lighting on the 2nd story is coming from that light, and is passing through some bad...

Amazing work, but was it done with photoshop?

I'm pretty sure it's a 3d render. The one thing that really gets me is the light being cast just underneath those 2nd story windows. A little sloppy on the modeling, and that's what happens. I don't know much about architecture and carpentry, but I imagine that the porch roof would be joined...

Lost Tutorial...Displacement Map - Text on Face

Tech-Slop is up, but there will be a server name change in a few days. After that happens, I will post a link to several mirrors. Personally, I can't stand Lily's approach. Not you in particular, Lily, but the technique itself. Attached is a quick dohicky. I'll do something a bit more...

    Borg Eye with Stroker

Borg Eye with Stroker I am definitely not known for my painting skills. I am one of the sloppiest painters you will ever meet. Even with my sloppy, meager skills, I do manage to surprise myself on occassion. There was a time when I was afraid of painting. I always thought that no matter...

    Stroker's Tutorials

Whoops. Sorry about that. I'm used to people knowing certain things when I babble. Zoom Cube is a specific D-Map that "expands" the target. In Power Distort, the zoom cube is inverted. You can make one by laying down some gradients in the R and G channels. Do whatever you like with B, but I...
