How do I pull reflections from one image and paste it on another?

I'm not sure I fully understand what effect you are trying to achieve. Take a look at the attached image. If this is what you are trying to accomplish, then it's a simple matter of putting the window reflections on top of the forrest and applying a blend mode of "Screen".

Restore and Manipulation of old photo

I'm dumb-founded. Great job, man. I like how well you were able to pull details out of the shadows. ... Somebody tell me what's wrong with the phonograph. ... not much that I can see; except, maybe since you added shadows to Jenny and her chair but not to the phonograph, it looks a little...

My First Photo Restoration -- Please Critique

Thanks. :) It was a lot of effort (for me anyway), but I took it as a challenge and once I got into it and began to see progress, I really had a good time.

    1. The biggest difference is probably due to the limited functionality of PSE vs PS. I do not have the "advanced" tab you mention. 2. I appreciate the offer to send a copy of your psd file, but that isn't necessary. I don't mind experimenting on my own. 3. I am most grateful for your...

Fix it, best one gets 5 bucks!

iDad, I've already submitted my effort. I'm sure you want to wait until others have had a chance to submit theirs as well before you give us the answer. :) That said, I sincerely hope that you will describe some of your methods of removing the stains so we can learn from you. Thanks.

Fix it, best one gets 5 bucks!

As mentioned above, I'm using elements, so I don't have the camera raw plugin. However, I was able to obtain a similar effect by using replace color to change the reds / yellows to white then blend that layer back in with the multiply mode over a masked layer of parchment as the check backing...

Thanks for the response. As an elements user, I guess I'm out of luck on that one.

Great work, Colleague. You managed to isolate / keep much more of the writing detail on the check than I did. Would you please describe your process for isolating that writing so I can learn. Thanks.

My First Photo Restoration -- Please Critique

Tom, Thank you for the detailed response. You did a fantastic job reducing that stain. I tried to duplicate your example, but my results were much different. Did I use the wrong tool? Or perhaps it's different because I'm using Elements rather than the full-blown Photoshop?

My First Photo Restoration -- Please Critique

Greetings, One and All. Below is my first ever photo restoration. While talking on the phone with my mom the other day, she asked if I could remove "a few white spots" from a photo she had scanned of her great-grandmother. I was expecting to see half a dozen or so of those white dust specks...
