    Vector work

Whoa! That's a great illustration! Your capture of movement is just superb. Did you use Illustrator, Xara X, or some other vector app?

    WELCOME NEW USERS!

Welcome to the forums cajabe. Photoshoppers we've got! ;) Sure it's OK to have signature GIFs but I've got to admit that I've chosen to have them turned off. It's an option in Profile > Modify Profile > Look and Layout Preferences.

    eyedropper acting up!

Hi mrrich and welcome to the forums! I don't have a real answer and can't seem to duplicate your issue but have some suggestions anyway. When you are using the Brush tool to paint, while the brush tool is active, all you need to do is hold down the Alt (Option) key and the cursor changes on the...

What Mona Lisa does when you're not looking.

Haw! I have a young friend who is just into her twenties who has been collecting Mona Lisa oddities for at least 10 years. She'll love these!

    Apple Aperature Software

About Aperture... I've only had access to the Apple pitch videos but ran into this rather lengthy podcast by David Biedny which is a very astute analysis from someone who is more knowledgeable than I'll ever be and has had a chance to really assess Aperture...

New work by Moth - Sunset

I think its a phenomenal Photoshop painting, Moth. Your color palette is particularly beautiful. :} :} :} (Now lets see, where's my Vue 5?)

Lots of old fashioned fonts here

Great font stash and a fun little video intro, too, Doc. For a nifty selection of Victorian and Circus fonts, look on eBay for Dover 'books' of fonts. They usually go for about $10 and have great collections of fonts. The 'books' merely are hard copy prints of the fonts themselves which are...

    photoshop 7 question

Hi Evil Nemesis. Editable type on a path wasn't incorporated into Photoshop until Photosop CS, I believe. In PS7 and earlier I was using either Illustrator and importing it into Photoshop or Vertigo 3D's HotTEXT plugin which is no longer in development and therefore of doubtful value.

    Copying a layered picture

I normally use a rectangular marquee and Image > Crop rather than the crop tool and it keeps all the layers. So if you want just a portion of an image but don't want to destroy the original, how about duplicating the image and cropping it? (Maybe I don't quite understand what you are trying to...

    Error message

Nope! ;) BTW there's no such thing as turning on virtual memory in OS X that I'm aware of. The entire allocation of memory is performed by the OS based on dynamic need. The equivalent of VM is paging off to disk but the user has no control over that function.

Torn Out Border - how is it done?

To ronmatt's answer, I'd add layer masks, too. I was going to write a short tutorial but went to the Adobe Studio Exchange to see if anybody had created torn paper brushes and ran across a great Janee tutorial...called... (wait for it...) Torn Paper! Its listed in the Textures & Special Effects...

    Error message

There is an optional plugin on the CS2 install disk (actually I think it's been around since PS7) called Unlimited Clipboard Size.plugin. It is found on your PS CS2 install disk at /Volumes/Adobe(R) Photoshop(R) CS2/Goodies/Optional Plug-Ins/Photoshop Only/Optional Extensions/Unlimited Clipboard...

    Double Elliptical

Ah...a simpler method ronmatt! I sort of knew there had to be one but my suggestion comes from a technique I developed for providing a type of anti-aliasing when I take an object from one image and place it in another. I'll load the new layer's selection, contract it slightly and save a channel...
