    Double Elliptical

Yes. Here's the way I do that. 1. Make your smaller marquee. 2. Save it as an alpha channel. That easily done by adding a new channel in the Channels palette by clicking on the button next to the trash can. Then click on the button next to that and it will save your selection in the new channel...

    Apple Aperature Software

Re: New software Hi Gare, I've watched all the videos about Aperture today and it looks to be a typical Apple first version... very powerful and polished software which is incredibly easy to use. At present it seems like a very sophisticated archival/browser tool which only performs global...

    Merging Thousands of Images

That's quite an undertaking tetrakarbon! I think completing an eighth of the project in an hour and a half is pretty quick. Hey the whole thing would just take you 12 hours. That's not a disproportionate amount of time for such a major project, it seems to me. I tried to figure out some way to...

CS 2 eating up all of virtual memory

Definitely more RAM...(http://www.ramseeker.com/pc/index.php). I did a bit of research on Windows memory/virtual memory/performance issues and came up with this list... Download the latest drivers for your Video/Graphics card. (Unfortunately many cards are maximized for gaming. Drop the...

    dpi or ppi

Hey Melissa! I got busy yesterday and never got back to the computer.? ;) Many pros liked the 10% method which was also called the Stairstep method of upsizing. When Photoshop came out with new algorithms for resampling in PS CS, they had increased in quality enough that returning to a one step...

Hello from the UK (with a small text question lol )

Hey Hey conjoskaz! Welcome to the forums! It sounds that you are an inspired 'beginner'. :righton: You've already discovered the answer to the question which brought you here, yesterday. If you Google 'text on a path Photoshop' you'll find a number of varieties of tutorials and discussions of...

    dpi or ppi

Resampling occurs if you change the pixel size either up or down. If you are just changing resolution and have resampling unchecked, the pixel dimensions don't change. I'm glad Sark added that.

    dpi or ppi

You're right, Sark. I should have mentioned that. What I was trying to do was provide step by step simple directions which would point out the relationship of image size and resolution while allowing Melissa to print her images. Thanks for your addition, its most welcome.

    dpi or ppi

It's simple. Just multiply the print size in inches X 300 to get the pixel dimensions.

    dpi or ppi

    You'll need a different file for each size. For a 5" x 7" you'll need 1500px x 2100px @ 300 dpi. 8" x 10" = 2400px x 3000px etc.

    dpi or ppi

Melissa, I've pre-answered that question. ;) After you increase the resolution to 300dpi, you should change the pixel dimensions back to what they were originally. When you first open the Image Size dialog, note what the pixel dimensions are. Now change the Resolution to 300dpi. See the pixel...
