Yes, you need to adjust your resolution in Photoshop and then print the image.

I've heard of Gilding the Lily, now here's Grunging the Lily. 8D Seriously, though. I like the effect.

    Summer Night

Those clouds are a superior job, Moltas, perhaps the best I've ever seen generated completely with Photoshop native tools. :righton:

    Actions Error?

I have two knee-jerk reactions which may be whistling in the wind. One, trash preferences. Two, reinstall Photoshop as something may not be right with the installation. [stuned]

    dpi or ppi

Aha. We're posting at the same time! ;) About printing. I'm assuming that you are referring to printing on your own ink jet printer? If your camera is saving it's files at 72 dip when you open the file in Photoshop, if you print at that resolution you will get a crummy print. For a good quality...

    dpi or ppi

Melissa, When you open a picture in Photoshop it is reading exactly what your camera has captured. I believe it may be valuable to think in terms of pixel sizes rather than dpi or ppi. If your image is 2400 x 3000 pixels you have enough data to print an 8" X 10" at 300dpi. If you wished to put...

    Pumpkin Pie

Absolutely stunning, Hatch. I've downloaded the files and am going to give it a go later (when my main monitor comes back from repair the second time and the CPU upgrade which failed is finally replaced. Sheesh...I've had computer 'issues for the last three weeks.)

    Actions Error?

Welcome to the forums, horsemouth. I can't imaging what the PDF Library has to do with loading a filter and couldn't find any information after searching my normal sources. Have you inquired from the person who supplied the action/filter sets? Hmmm, after thinking about it, I'm also going to...

Retouching a digital photo of mine

Hi Susie, Welcome to the forums! The big question becomes, how good are your skills at selecting different areas? Once you have the specific areas selected you could possibly create a pattern which looked like your siding and then apply it in the Layer Styles dialog with a color blend mode...

    Watercolor

I agree with Sheba and ricib. Is the teacher approachable enough to find out why it was graded so? If not, there's some personal issue going on which has nothing to do with your art. That water balloon piece is very interesting. It could be done in Illustrator, even. If the teacher can't...

    Unexpectedly quit

Permissions is a good start. Then try trashing preferences. At that point I tend to go into a full diagnostic and maintenance routine. This morning PS CS2 was acting strange on my computer (an extensively upgraded G4 running 10.2.4) and DiskWarrior resolved the issue. It was working fine last...

That's more brains per skull than any person has had in history. Obviously you've captured the 'Greatest Brain In the World' on pixels. Ringling Bros. needs you! (Nice .asl, too!) ;)

    business question

I'm a style nut and have looked at many collections of styles for sale. I've purchased one collection, "Adobe Photoshop 7 One-Click Wow!" by Jack Davis and Linnea Dayton. On the CD were over 800 great styles but more importantly they taught, in the accompanying book, how to look at, deconstruct...

    Macro Shots

Wow! Just Plain WOW! I love your continuing Photographic explorations. Much of it is in the eye, but the willingness to learn and invest in technology is a significant part of the equation. Those 'hummer' pics were outstanding, too. I'm surrounded by them much of the year but actually...

    Correcting mobile taken pics ?

Here's another try. I think both of your jobs significantly enhanced the original image. In this case I first tried using Photoshop native tools only and gave up to use three of my specialized plugins. I first used Neat Image to work on the grain issue. (I ran it twice with the same settings...

That really is a very good, simple technique, ronmatt. Thank you very much for sharing that with us. I'll actually use it! 8))
