    Making image look better

Ran, a 297*470 pixels image is way too smal to get a descent result. The fact that it's a jpeg only makes things worse (artifacts). Ask them for an uncompressed image (TIFF for example) at the highest resolution as possible. Important first is to correct the highlights, mid tones and shadows...

    Map image restoration

Most important thing when you decide to resize (smaller), is to use the interpolation option bicubic sharper (Only Photoshop CS). It really makes quite a difference.

    Glass Christmas Balls

How could we have known Bob? [confused] Anyway, I think your 1st image looks great for a natural looking reflection in a Christmas ball :righton: The 2nd one isn't bad either, but the effect looks more painted.

    Glass Christmas Balls

I don't understand. It was always my impression that you wanted to know how to make a Christmas ball. If that's the case Bob, then you should tell us what doesn't look right to you or post at least the results of your attempts and not Mark's orginal ball on which you placed a picture, although...

    3D [Caution] Some Nudity here

Another thing to improve the image; make the shadows on the models less dark. Look at the background (the trees for example) and notice the that there aren't many really dark shadows. Now compare this with the models. Do you notice how the lighting on the models is in conflict with the...

    3D [Caution] Some Nudity here

I think blurring the background is a good idea. It creates depth and moves the focus to the main subject and avoids too many distractions. However it's better to create a gradual blur which makes it look more realistic. You do that by duplicating the background, blurring it with lens blur...

Pls comment this front calendar cover design!!!

There are a few things that bother me. What bothers me most though is the fact that it feels like two images in one; - the animals don't look at each other, when this particular image really begs for it in my opinion - conflicting proportions - conflicting lighting in several areas But...

    PhotoShop bookshop UK site

You know Sark, I paid $60 US for Photoshop Artistry 6 years ago. That's a lot of money. And you know what? I use Photoshop CS and I can't say that the book has lost it's value, even if it was written for Photoshop 6. I also have 3 other books written for PS 6 and I can't say that they are...

    i dont get this tutorial...

devushka, be aware that the final result will look something like the image that I've attached. Mark's examples are showing you lots of other fancy stuff that is not covered by this tutorial. I'm pretty sure that Mark can lead you in the right direction so that you will be able to make your...

No problem Devushka, but it would be helpful to give us an indication where things go wrong or which particular step(s) you don't understand. :) Also a screenshot of your result can be very useful. Btw, for those who don't know the tutorial...
