    Narrowing of brush

If you have a pressure sensitive graphics tablet such as a Wacom Intuos or Bamboo then it's easy of course. I think Photoshop CS5 has some new brushes built in that try to simulate it also even with a mouse, but I haven't tried them yet. Try them out if you have CS5, and just play with the...

    Cali Hair Studio

Nice looking site. I like your color choices and the layout. The only thing I would change is that soem of your text is hard to read (the copyright text and the store hours). I would add some dark blurred layer behind that text to make it easier to read.

Batch Automation watermarking, batch, action , droplet

I don't know about your crashes, but to get the copyright symbol (or any other special character) if you are on a Windows computer just go to Start --> Accessories --> System Tools --> Character Map and select the symbol you want, copy it and paste it into the text in Photoshop. You should be...

    Re-creating Text

That just looks like Arial Black font, just double click the text layer and add stroke as iDad suggested.

Make a Logo Larger Without Quality Loss

There's some plugins that claim to do it better than the built in resizing algorithm in Photoshop, I think Alien Skin Blowup is one. I don't know how much better they are, but you can probably give it a shot with the trial version.

using my own writing over an image...

Hmm, you can try scanning it as Yutosi suggested, but the problem you are going to have is getting rid of the white paper around your writing and having it look clean. I have tried this a few times and didn't have a lot of success. I would either try to find a handwriting font that is...

Damn that's actually a nice system for the money. triple core AMD chips are pretty good. Is that the 45nm one or the old 65nm? Is that from newegg?

New Dark Forum Style is Now the Default

It's amazing. I love it. Thanks for the hard work guys. I don't have an issue with the login boxes. The only thing I can see right now is that all the new smilies look like they need to be replaced because they have white pixelation/matting around them :) Really nice job though, it's way...

New Member Here Needs Help with Layers Question

When you are working in Photoshop you should always save a PSD copy of the file that you can come back to to make changes. When you want to work with them in another program like iPhoto or iMovie you should save a copy as JPG or PNG to work in another program with. Some programs allow you to...

New Member Here Needs Help with Layers Question

Sorry I am not sure I know what you are asking. After you have it looking right in Photoshop, save it as a JPG and any other program should be able to read it just fine.

Photoshop plugin to create convert 8,8,8 color images to 6,6,6 color with dithering

Yes... 8, 16, or 32-bit depth is standard. I don't know if Photoshop supports anything else actually. Maybe if you post one of the images and let us know the desired output specs we can help you more. How many of these images are we talking about? If it's just a few you may have better...

Saving an image as vector in PS

Haha, yes i guess it was killed a long time ago wih the Adobe/Macromedia merger. The funny thing is I know at least one person who still uses it :)

How to create a psd for website design

There's really not an easy way to answer this, because it all depends on what you want the website to look like and also what the final output will be. For example if you are going to use the PSD with a CMS like Wordpress or Drupal then the process is different than if you are slicing it fro...

    Mac + Photoshop = ??RAM

I have 12GB on my main work box. I think it's plenty, but I want more for After Effects :) The speed of your processor is probably going to be the limiting factor for most things after you have "enough" RAM. Also having a fast SSD hard drive for both your OS and scratch disks is a...

    Choosing the right brush

I have some commercial brush sets that I have used on a few projects and they saved me a lot of time. The nice thing about commercial sets is that you can usually save the sales page images so you can see examples of the brushes in use. One thing to look for is the brushes resolution. High...

Saving an image as vector in PS

Well Photoshop does have soem vector capabilities but they are very limited. Things like Text layers, shapes made from shape tools, paths, and things made with the pen tool are saved as vector when you save in PSD format, you can resize all of these without loss in image quality... but it's not...

    problem in saving file

Yea it sounds like you have a huge file, or a system that is struggling to keep up with Photoshop.

    JPG's different than PSD files.......

It probably has to do with the color settings being different. When you are working in Photoshop you might be using one color space, and then if you tick the box that says Convert to sRGB when you save it as a JPG it might come out looking slightly different.

I need help to modifity format for my picture needs.

I used Abobe Illustrator to convert it from raster to vector by tracing over it in Illustrator. It's easy to do if you are familiar with the basic tools in Illustrator.
