    Sprucemagoo1, i tried the healing brush tool, and boy that could have saved me loads of time instead of using the clone tool!! Oh, well we live and learn and at least i know something new now :o)

    Thanks guys for all the help! I had a go at cloning the lines out (it was painful!), this left some awkward looking lines on the background, so i used the light setting on the smudge tool and did a circular motion on the backgound, it surprisingly turned out really nice and now gives the...

    Steve, many thanks for the reply! I have attached an example below of the pattern of the background; ideally i would like it to be plain white while preserving the folds in the material if its possible? I am using Photoshop CS2.
