    I had a play with displacement maps, but didn't have much luck as I'm not trying to project the logo onto the surface of the brown paper. However, a bit more fiddling and experimentation and I've come up with this. Any suggestions for improvements?

    I think, specifically, it's the edges of the star shape that needs though. In order to have that authentic 'wrapped' look, they probably need to be less even as well as shaded to look 3D. Then, probably, some work on the layering of the paper to be more believable that you can wrap a star shape...
