    Problem with soft brushes

Is there a way that I can test my computer to see what the problem is? It might be my video card, is there a program I can run to test it? I ran a stress test on it and it passed, so what else can I do to track down the problem? I'm noticing other problems which are making me think it isn't...

    Problem with soft brushes

Yes, but I am holding out that it is some silly little thing I've clicked on or reset accidentally, so don't be afraid to suggest something simple

Are you changing the size of the car? It looks like its pixelated from being made bigger

    Problem with soft brushes

I agree, but I'm having a hard time trying to figure out what computer issue would affect one part of one program and nothing else. Aside from horrible looking gradients there doesn't seem to be any other problems in anything else in photoshop or on my computer

    Problem with soft brushes

Open GL was unchecked in my version of CS5, but I checked it and it didn't fix anything

    Problem with soft brushes

I've tried re-installing my video drivers and that didn't work. I've completely shut my computer off and turned it back on and that didn't do anything. I've got two versions of Photoshop installed, and I just checked and it's not working in either version, so it isn't a setting I've clicked...

    I have a Newbie Question

Well, without seeing the actual image it's hard to know for sure, but it was probably done with something in the image>adjustments menu, hue and saturation maybe. They also could have overlayed the new colour on a new layer and used layer blending modes to bring the texture of the house...

Brush settings for making abstract images?

Well, for the moment I'm assuming your's is the top one. Can you give a link to the tutorial? Right now the top on looks like a brush that was spaced out a bit (or just stamped over and over) and the bottom one looks like maybe it has more than one brush being used. If you post a link to...

    Problem with soft brushes

I've tried restarting and it doesn't help. I've killed a video card in the past, and so far my computer isn't showing any signs of a failing card, so I don't think it's that. However, just to be thorough, is there any way I can check if its a video card issue?

    Problem with soft brushes

Also, a soft eraser erases in the same way, and the rings that are produced are larger than the actual brush, if either of those things help....

    Problem with soft brushes

I'm not sure what lead to it, yesterday it was working fine, today it's doing that.

    Problem with soft brushes

I've been having a problem with my brush tool, set to zero hardness. Instead of being a steady gradient, it appears as a series of rings (see picture below). I've made sure that it isn't any of the layer or tool blending modes, that I'm in RGB and not indexed colour or anything, and I've...
