    Low Memory Error

I have a machine with 8 GB RAM, about 40GB of free space on my system/program drive (a SSD unit), and have Photoshop CS 6 set up to page on drive C (although I have 4 rotating drives available with lots of free space). I tried to load a small Photoshop file and got an error message that I was...

    Save for Media (?)

When I try to "save for media" in CS4 (used to be save for web in CS) the window that is presented it just too big, and I'm not able to click the buttons to [Save] at the bottom of that window. That is because my screen is only 1024 x 600 on my Netbook. So, I'm able to do just so much on the...

Crop Tool not working in PhotoShop CS4

I have CS4, and today downloaded the latest update. Unfortunately, the Crop Tool is not working. If I start with a 400x400 image and want to crop it using the Crop Tool, instead of a second or so (which was my experiance with CS) it takes a couple of minutes, and results in a very large file...

    Reducing using Image Size

A long time ago (in Internet years) I read somewhere that in Photoshop you should reduce images in steps, but never in one big step. For example, if you had an original 3200 pixels wide, you should first reduce it to 3100 pixels wide, then 3000, then 2900, and so on, down to about 2000; then...

Click on JPEG file in Win XP; image doesn't open

I have Windows XP/Pro with SP3. In File Options > File Types I have JPG set to open up in Photoshop CS4; alas, when JPG files are either in Outlook as attachments or on the desktop, nothing happens when I double click them. My workaround is to drag the file icon into CS4, and this only works...

    Problem with CS4 Cropping Tool

I took a image that was 2048 x 1536 @ 300 px/inch (9.00MB) and attempted to crop out a much smaller section. Alas, it took way too long, and produced a 36,600x23821 image @ 72px/inch (2.64GB)! Is this a CS4 problem, or, as I suspect, an operator error? PS: As a work around, I'm using the...

Old user with new CS4 upgrade

I started with Photoshop 3, way back when (indeed, it was provided "free" with a scanner I purchased). Went to 5, then 7, then CS, and now just upgraded to CS4. I only do web stuff. Other than Adobe Reader, don't have any other Adobe products. Joined the forum because I have a couple of...
