    Quick mask problem when using it as a selection tool

    When i use quick mask for a selection when i do crtl and j for a new layer the opacity for the cutout part is only about 40% ie you can see the checkered boxes through the image Can anyone please help as I can't figure it out ,it used to work fine but i must have changed a setting

    How do you produce a perfect Blur background

    Can anyone advise how to blur the background of a portrait when I attempt it I dup the layer make a selection then ctrl J for a new layer then blur the background using gauz blur but I end up with a halo round the selection please help

    Loss of quality ( JPEG )

    When I download my pics into photoshop the file sizes are between 55KB to about 1 MB ( JPEG ) but when I alter them using curves, levels etc.. the image quality is noticeably poorer and unacceptable for print. does anyone know of a way round this problem ? I have just found this site and...
