    Creating custom color gradient text from top to bottom

    thanks! Thank you! I couldn't get it to work exactly as you said (by dragging up) but I created the custom gradient based on your instructions, then selected the layer and used Layer-> Layer Style-> Gradient Overlay and chose/applied my custom gradient, which was then in the pull-down menu. :)
