    From the Dark Side

Thanks Chris, sinister was what I was going for. That dark, you don't want to go in there, kind of feeling.

An old sketch with a new look

That's funny that Chris and Sam see it as very dark. I can see it perfectly on my monitor, but then that's the trouble with internet, everyone has different settings. I'll check on lightening it up a bit though. Paul, I'm not related to Clare, at least as far as I know, lol, which...

Hi, I'm Marilyn. Color me like a Glamour Girl and give me a trendy background.

I'm glad you like it, Chris. This one was a lot of fun to work with. I've always liked Marilyn. Although I was sorely tempted to do her in her natural brunette hair colour, lol. Maybe I will later.

    Retouch a Mature Woman

Thanks Chris! I had fun touching her up. :)

    Retouch a Mature Woman

Here's my attempt. What do you think? Although to be honest, I thought she was gorgeous as she was. :)

    From the Dark Side

This was a manip for an album cover I did. If you are wondering why it looks "off", well that's on purpose. The surreal look to it was inspired by the opening to "Tales from the Dark Side", a TV show from the 80s.

An old sketch with a new look

This is from a sketch I did years ago, and then I "fancied it up" in PS. What do you think?

Hi, I'm Marilyn. Color me like a Glamour Girl and give me a trendy background.

Don't ask me to be trendy. I never have been and never will be, lol. I rarely liked the things that are "trending" when they are trendy anyway, so I just went with a background I liked. Just deal with it.

Making a sample picture of a printed card for online display

Thanks for the advice Larry, that did help. I'll just have to work on the shadows and such to get it just right. :) Here it is with a bit of texture:

    Help is finally in sight

I actually like it better now that Larry pointed out the "flaw" in the picture (love the picture before the observation too). Now though, it kind of give me the feeling like maybe she thinks help will be coming soon, but maybe the plane is actually in distress itself and about to crash, that's...

Making a sample picture of a printed card for online display

Thanks for letting me know about Sam, Larry, and thanks so much for your work with the pic. It's still not quite what I'm going for, but after fiddling with the picture myself I came up with the closest thing yet to the effect I want, though it still doesn't look very realistic to me. Here's...

Making a sample picture of a printed card for online display

Thanks for your concern Sam. :) I am a bit of a stickler for reading terms when it comes to stock images that I use. So I made sure this one was clear of any copyright, and could be used for commercial purposes. I don't even sell fan art because it is technically copyright infringement, lol...

Change the color of clip art to a specific color

You are most welcome Nena! So glad I could help.

Poll What kind of internet connection do you use?

Well, I was going to vote but you don't have my option on it. I use WCDMA/HSDPA. It's a wireless mobile broadband USB dongle with a sim card inserted into its guts, lol.

Change the color of clip art to a specific color

Yea, I can help with this one. I feel special now, lol. Personally, I would use the "Color Replacement Tool". Here's how to use it. Okay, first, open your image in PS. Second, in your colour swatch picker, choose the colour you want to use for the body of the elephant, then...

Making a sample picture of a printed card for online display

Hi Sam, thanks for the welcome. :) I got the image off of a public domain image site. I would have to look to see which one specifically, as I have several accounts and bookmarks for image stock sites for paid, vintage and/or public domain. If you like though I can find it for you. I...

    Greetings From Down Under

No worries, Paul. Where I am the net I use is horrible, and that's if it works at all. So generally I don't notice when anyone else is being slow, lol. Here are three of my fave works thus far.... This first one was a sketch I did years ago and then "did up" in PS. This next one is a...

Making a sample picture of a printed card for online display

Okay, so here's the deal. I have a vintage valentine card that I want to sell as a printable. Currently though I am unable to print this out myself. The problem with this is that I can't take product sample pictures of this image in various uses. Right now I would like to create a "photo" of...

    Greetings From Down Under

Hello all, Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm Chyina and I currently live in the beautiful Whitsundays, Queensland, Australia. I've been dabbling, off and on, in Photoshop for about three years now, but I know I still have a lot to learn, which is why I came here. :) I enjoy making art...
