    You can use normal pathlines. Make the path, stroke with brush with desired settings, then with a layer mask soften the edges. Then in layer blending options make an outer glow with the same color and set it to Screen. Repeat this for the different lines, and for the ones in the back just...

    Try to make the brush layer to Soft Light and then lower the opacity, then copy that layer and set it to color and once more lower the opacity. Then make soft around the edges. But as above, I don't think it's ps'ed

    If you are using the magic wand and get an selection you could then fill that selection on a new layer. Shift + F5 -> Color But if you really want it more good looking, then use the pathtool and then rightclick -> Stroke Path -> Brush, and you have to set your brush before.

    If you have made it for one picture you can save it to an action file and then just execute that one for all other pictures. So you basically do it for 1 image. And how to do this you will find plenty of info on the internet :) Gl!

    How to achieve this cubist-esque background?

    he has, as I can see, used one piece to the background, then used different lightnings and blendingmodes on parts of that picture. How to get that effect is to use whatever adjustment you want with layer masks. Made an 10sec sample: http://i29.tinypic.com/zl87lt.jpg

    use the warp tool if you are going to do it on a tree. A good base is to write the text, lower the fill to 0% and then use inner shadows

    you could otherwise just use youre Swatches, works in most cases. I also use kuler.adobe.com for colors that works good with each other.

    makin a "For Dummies" lookalike cover...

    An easy one is to resterize the text and then use a layer mask and use a grunge brush. It won't give the exact same look but something similar. Hope it helped
