    Hand cursor

    does it change to a hand temporary or permanently? You might have accidentally hold the space bar if it was temporary or hit the H key if it is permanently, just select another tool to get out.

    maybe somewhere else on your css is telling it to make it bigger, or it could be that your browser is zoomed in, go to view on your browser and make sure you are not zoomed in.

    copy that part of your nose to a new layer and align it with free transform tool (ctrl + T), than use a soft eraser tool to erase the edge so that it blends in with the rest of your face.

    Borders

    You will have to either draw it or take a photo of it, use the pen tool to outline it and just paste it on top of your content. Photo will be better if you are not familiar with illustrating in photoshop. The second picture shows some transparency, so turn down your opacity down to about 90 or 80.

    You should use the Clone stamp to replace the covered face. First get an extra layer and sketch in the missing part as guide than clone it.

    flaking paint

    You can use brush dynamic, give it some random scattering, do it in several layers, lets say about 3 different layers, and you can apply shadow effects to all of them to give it some depth.

    inverse selection

    I have no problem using inverse selection shortcut (shift + I)in any computer other than my home laptop, a Dell Inspiron. I checked my shortcut keys and it is assigned correctly, does anyone know why? All other shortcuts work except inverse selection
