Actually I was wondering what the benefit is of creating a path on a shape layer verses creating it on a path layer. I'm outlining a car, windshield, tires, etc. to create masks for selective editing and find myself with a list of different paths where some are work paths and some are vector...- d4fotografix

Thanks for your help! Looks like I was creating it on a shape layer instead of a path layer. I still don't understand the advantages/disadvantages of drawing the path on one over the other, though.- d4fotografix

Can anyone tell me the benefits of making a work path instead of a path with the pen tool? Why are the gray/white thumbnail icons in the Paths tab inverted for each type?- d4fotografix
